I was driving today and this old pickup pulls in from of me, and I saw a wood stove and about 5 ft of flue still attached to the stove and a load of firewood all in the bed of the truck it was hilarious.

That was me . Maybe he was afraid his truck would break down and he wanted to keep warm.

Now Hank, that really hit a nerve cause that truck has served us well for many years now! Lol, j/k. We do, however, have a few school buses in our neighborhood that are permanent homes...not kidding!

but the wood would have been in a wagon pulled by horses with the old wood stove still sitting in the Living Room! Went behind that old stove many a time to get dressed on cold, cold mornings and would roast on one side and freeze on the other, so had to keep turning like a turkey on a rotissory! May sound funny but believe me that old barrell stove was a God send when the weather got icy cold and having wood to put in it, also! Yep, guess our family were redneck hillbillies from the Ozark Hills in Southeast MO! So glad I don't have to feed a wood stove now nor take out the ashes! Brrrrrr! No trotting to the outhouse either! Thanks Lord for the many blessings you have given me throughout the years! Amen! Ma Betty

Haha, I made sure it wasn't one of my kin folk, the two guys looked proud of there new central heat and I was proud for them to!

Well, you know it did turn off pretty dang chilly today here in Alabama, Hank! That's how they heat their truck! Can't fault them for that. When the fire begins to die down, they just hop out at the next STOP sign and throw another log on the fire.

Haha, funny stuff you gotta do what you gotta do!

I'm with ya Ma I had to do that when I was younger, hated cutting wood the whole bit, but I would do it again if I had to.

Thats funny.
This summer I saw an average small car (think Ford Escort or similar) with a quad tied to the roof. No small quad either it was like a Yamaha 650 or better. I think the quad was nicer than the car. I laughed, my wife just shook her head. Things like that still still strike her as odd. You do what ya gotta do. I thought it was "innovative".

Hope you stop by again.

God bless.

Funny stuff, you might be a redneck if you have mud flaps with Yosemite sam saying back off, with you 8 track playing and your mikey gilley bumper sticker parking pass! Lol!

I would like to have had a wood heater in the tree stand with me this afternoon. Froze my butt off. Next time, I'll stay in the truck.:sleepy:

I used to have this picture on my Facebook profile! lol You better know that if the air went out in my Jeep during our hot summers here, I would not hesitate to rig up something like this... and I'm NOT kidding! lol
