Do any of you keep track of your hunting trips, with details about the location, date, weather, battery life, finds, and other information?
I did when I first started and up until about 2 years ago, but now, I just go out and hunt.
I think it's a nice idea, because then I can go back and read about my hunting trips, also brings back memories of where the good spots really were.

Ever since I started in the hobby back in 1972 I kept a journal/log with numbers, dates (older coins) and notes on locations, jewelry finds and relic's. Not so much anymore starting about a dozen years ago. Still keep up with numbers and dates of coins older then wheat cents, but anymore that is about it. Must admit, though, it is kind of fun reading some of those old logs from the 70's and 80's. The ones that haven't disappeared. For some, keeping elaborate records is part of the fun of the hobby. Yep, been keeping them since 2001. Just mention, what machine, date, # of coins, rings, jewelry. Sometimes when I'm wondering where to hunt next. Just lookup last time I was there. How good was it ? Etc. A lot of sites I lay of for a year or two.

I don't keep records , with over 20 years of detecting in atleast four states I can still remember all the best finds and right where I found them. For some , keeping logs is part of the hobby but I spend my time doing research for future hunts , logs from the past are just redundancy.

Yes....I also track my finds, dates, places and special finds. If I ever decide to write a book, I have some great information to write about.
