Your tongue

steve in so la

Well-known member
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.

James 3:9-10

Yes, God gave us our tongues and we make the decision how to use it...the tongue is close to the brain....so that we have no excuse for not thinking carefully before we use it.

Like the book written a few years back.. "Hung by the tongue" We get into a lot of trouble when we don't speak the Word of God... Guess we better watch what we say..... Thanks Steve for the reminder. :nono:

good message Steve, that is why we should be slow to speak and long considering. life is like chest, all the time is spent thinking about our next move, and considering the consequences, then when it is our turn we take it!

THIRD DAY LYRICS

"Nothing At All"

On and On... she goes
Where she stops no one really knows
Everybody's got a problem so it seems and
She ain't afraid of tellin' me
If you can't say nothin' good, don't say nothin' at all

On and On...he goes
Now look who's playin' the fool
Criticizing, telling lies, putting down
ain't you got nothin' better to do?
If you can't say nothin' good, don't say nothin' at all

[Chorus:]
'Cause I know that there are times in life
When we just can't keep it to ourselves
but to want is not to make it right
We've got to tame our tongue
If you can't say nothin' good, don't say nothin' at all

On and on...we go
playin the game that never ends
I think it's time that we all realize
a broken heart is hard to mend
If you can't say nothin' good don't say nothin' at all
James 3:5-10

The tongue is like a heart surgeon losing his blade. Once he cuts the heart and loses the blade there is nothing he can do to stop the bleeding.

I've spanked my tongue many times... It just won't behave!

thats a great little read. I've got it in my library and will read it again this week. And for anyone else you can read this book in a night. Its called Hung by the Tongue by Pastor Francis Martin

Thanks!

Good one, Steve, and out of the same fountain shouldn't come both bitter and sweet water! I've had to take my foot out of my mouth before I choked myself to death! The tongue is the smallest member of the body and like a small rudder guiding the boat it can go either way......godliness is absolutely better than sinfulness! Have a good attitude and the world will smile around you! Thanks for the reminder! As the three monkeys say: See no evil, hear no evil and Speak No Evil!

God Bless!
