"Time Heals All Wounds?" Well...there may be a whole lot of truth to that statement and that reminds me of a time when my great grandfather was attempting to make a deal with one of the local farmers, in his neck of the woods. It seems this farmer wanted to trade some of his crop of wheat - he had grown - with some of great grandfathers oats. They talked for a while then I over heard great grandfather tell the farmer, " If you want top quality oats, you have to pay for top quality oats. Now, on the other hand, if you don't mind them going through the horses one time, they're considerably less expensive." You get what you pay for and I never forgot that lesson.
And speaking of wheat... I've completely taken commercially grown wheat, pasteurized cows milk, and all white sugar out of my diet. I've replaced all breads with non-glutton home made bread, which is just fantastic. I've replaced cows milk with vanilla flavored soy or rice milk, and replaced white sugar with Meijer brand zero calorie sweetner made with stevia extract. It's now more than a week since I was released from the hospital with an allergy to glutton, which of course is in all wheat bread and likely other breads as well. I feel considerably better and most of the body pain is gone. I've also noticed that I'm beginning to loose the 'belly fat' and bowel movements have become much easier too. Little by little I'll be adding more fresh veggies and fruits to my daily intake and drinking more water rather than soft drinks or coffee. I've found that I like decaffeinated green tea and a few other teas as well. It is my opinion that the closer I get to the diet my great grandparents enjoyed, the better I will feel. Farmers market ...... here I come!
