Went out and found a few drier patches of ground to hunt.
Decided to grab the Tesoro Amigo II that I quickly made a straight shaft handle for from parts hanging around.
Hunted right at the foil disc mark that will still pick up a thin ladies gold band if I walk across one.
Noticed I was missing Canadian clad dimes and some nickels, so backed the disc down below iron to pick them up and any clad coins on edge.
Then began finding the clad........
After a couple hours dug up
2 Loons
8 quarters
6 dimes
3 nickels
16 pennies
2 junk metal ID bracelets

Makes a nice little back-up, back packing, throw keep in the trunk machine.

Cured my itch to get out for a bit.

ya those canadian coins have a lot of nickle in them and are some of the hardest to find at depth .

Nice going. You sure are talented. I wished that I could mod detectors like you do.

Newer clad is nickel plated steel which drives most Id machines nutso. Have better luck using Tesoro beep and digs.......
If you disc to far above iron, your detector won't see them, except for some of the older clad. Which is fine for me, I pick up everything everyone else discriminates
out. You need a ED180 detector up here to clean up.

That is a cool little detector. The way you set it up makes it look so comfortable.I wish Tesoro would design a pole like that. :O

They actually had an add-on speed handle straight shaft handle adapter for it. My Amigo didn't have one, so I adapted.
It is very comfortable with the control box all the way back. Balances nicely when resting on the ground while digging and doesn't fall over..
Headphone cord stays out of the way along your side while detecting and digging. I like it.
