Got out for a few hours today to a place I’ve hunted a thousand times before... started out slow..the 2 washers appeared as if they were gonna be large cents but -no dice.... I did manage a crotal bell and an 1860 Indian head to save the day...

Yes I was...I’ve struggled to use multi frequency at this place ..I was using park 1, ground balance 36, 5tone,4,5,6 on separation and iron bias FE 2.. sensitivity 18.. it worked very well yesterday.. the Indian gave a solid 16 which surprised me as they usually read about 22.. I also had 0-+9 disced out..I dug very little iron except for a solid piece of iron the size of a cantaloupe.. I’m sure I’ve been over several of these targets many times in the past ..most signals were weak and iffy but at least I could get a response..

Have you tried field 2 ? I was running almost full sensitivity near some serious power lines with lots of EMI just noise canceling and lowered to 20 nice and smooth

Nice find.... I found an early IH cent last spring that also read a solid 16.... main reason I dug it was because I had found some civil war buttons nearby.
Probably like you, I was surprised it gave such a low reading.
Your persistence at this site paid off for you!!🤗🤗

I learned the same thing last year. The IH cent I found registered a solid 17.
Curious, what is the struggle you are having with multi- frequency at this location?

Multi sometimes only sounds good on deep iron of which there is plenty here or I spend the day digging foil and bits of aluminnum while the high conductors dont make a sound..

Strange...I never came across this issue and use multi-frequency exclusively.
