all alone I rode this morning - slipping through enemy territory in search of the Lord Of The Rings

It was a bright early thursday morning, 6:46 in the AM. Wife and dog asleep I sneaked outside with my trusted 2 wheel ATV, some call it a bike I call it an ATV. With my simplex in tow, I rode off into the morning sun. Greeted with the stench of a plowed onion field I was on my way riding the trails to the old trusting creek.

Finally after a long 3 minute ride i was here. Staring down the long bank I could only imagine what lies ahead

So I began my journey to find the Lord of the Rings. Slipping past the 1st enemy encampment I was invisible

Onward I must go for it is my destiny to find this fabled ring. As I travel through through the remnants of ancient ruins I sense I am near

Then all of a sudden BAM! A voice the sound of thunder, lightning bolts crashing through the air striking the ground it was there. it was the spot. As my knees began to tremble I un holster the shovel from my back pack and I began to dig and I dig and then I dig a little more and there it was....The Lord Of The Rings

Well that was both exciting and unexpected!!!

great story and love the pics....I look homeless so those folks don't bother me... my hunting area is almost like you described... I hunt in "da hood" because that is where all the early 1900's stuff is. early in da morning, or when it's 100 degrees outside... for some reason the streets are empty.

I hear ya about da hood! For the most part they don't bother me but I have had some crazy and unusual interactions with them. the ones that's been there awhile leave me be  what kills me the most is the ones holding up in some key areas I hardly swiped including this area around a bridge I only had the pleasure of a couple of hunts that yielded a walker a few mercs & a couple of SLQ's some old rings. Basically I found a LOT in a couple of short hunts there then someone decided to homestead under that bridge. You can see debris stretch from up under the bridge all the way down to the bottom of creek. Heartbreaking!

You know? The more I looked at this ring the more I am loving it! I love the fact it was hand made. My guess is it was dropped by someone who camped there 30 - 40 years ago. It has that biker chick look to it
