"New" Sovereign on the way

I just noticed.
No meter ?
Do you not like them ?
I have the 500 meter.
Am I tuning it right ?
I set it to 500 on a silver half.
I really haven't found very much info on the meters other than a 180 conversion.
And I'm not sure if I really want to do that.
Or should I ?
Not much use over here.......we have to dig everything above small iron to make sure we aren't missing tiny hammered coins so i've never bothered.

Welp I finally got the Sniper coil.
Put the one on the Tejon.
Very precise coil.
In the house with the factory 8×11 coil
The Tejon is twitchy and can't GB.
The sniper is smooth and Very quiet.
Picking out every single Nail in the floor.
2nd disc just above iron beautifully knocks out the nails seeing ducting and powerwires below the floor without chatter or interference.
Gonna be nice in the Bad trash.
I'm still waiting on the GT's lower shaft.

Back today with a small gold star pendant. On the front is some sort of mother of pearl.....quite a pretty object.Thats three trips with the Sov with one gold ring, one silver ring and now this. All the objects were found at shallow depths.
Very nice.
That Hunter coil is working for you.
Surprised it hit on the earring.
There have to be hundreds of earrings out there.
Rarely do I see people hitting earrings.
Actually found my first with the Ace 250.
Dead on a nickel signal.

You need to center the control range adjustment on the rear of the meter first i believe.I think its then a case of getting the detector running with a stable threshold before you start passing objects over the coil and fine tuning the calibration control to each target.I think getting the detector stable before calibration is quite important if you want accuracy on each target.
I can't say 100% if what i'm saying is right as i've never had the meter but i remember a club member having one and thats how he calibrated his.

Thanks Nauti.

I can tell already you will do just fine! The Tejon, in my opinion, is an excellent detector. I was going to say just practice with junk but you are way ahead of me there. Good luck! I hope you find a fortune.
Playing with the Tejon and Sniper coil
Just outside a Substation.
33 thousand volts going in and 13.2 thousand volts coming out. The 33KV and 13.2 KV.
At the main gate. About 30 ft from the 2 500KW
Stepdown transformers.
Ran beautiful like the Mojave in same location.
Sadly nothing worth saving.
If it didn't suddenly down pour. I'd off took pics.
Still can't get video up on my YoTub account.
Do I have to Pay first ???
Next couple weeks I'll try much Older substations. Looking for my First silver dollar.
Got the Sniper on my Best beep an dig machine today. Sovereign GT.
If it stops raining.
I'm Anxious to get the Beast out.
In the house full of interference.
WiFi in the room, two cell phones and house wiring.
GT over a very many nails wood floor.
Solid Null !!
Hits US coins at 6+ inch's cleanly. Slow sweep.
Yup
Can't wait to get this combo out in the field.
This Nel Sniper coil on both machines is making my day. Impressed am I ...
😁🤗

It definately looks like it will do well in the trashy areas.........i may look into getting one myself eventually if i can drag myself away from the beaches.....just loving the beaches at the moment. It may be useful at one of the beaches i detect as there is a pebble ridge there that hides quite a lot of older coins......that coil would be great for searching amongst the bigger stones.

So on your advice I received this coil Friday.
Couldn't pass a up a good thingy.
Darn weather went South again.
Colder than a witches teet. LoL
Anxious to try it out.

I bought it and the Tejon specifically to find earrings on the beaches.
Woman lose them all the time.
By the thousands over the years I'll wager.
I've had on Many occasions where a Nice target just disappeared on the break water part of the beach. Slipped right thru my scoop.
My larger coil just couldn't relocate them.
Hoping these Sniper coils will do the trick.
I'll bet there are hundreds there for the same reason.
Others like me running big coils big scoops.
Your thoughts ?

Hi Nauti,
For a large beach coil, I HIGHLY recommend the NEL Tornado 12X13. I've tried many large coils and this one seems to have them beat for sensitivity and above all STABLE operation. It is not susceptible to falsing from bumping the coil or EMI like many larger coils are plagued with. I love the NEL line of coils so much, I just recently purchased a 5.5X9.5 Sharpshooter coil to try out for my trashier spots. Can't wait to give it a whirl!
Darn.
Now ya got me wanting another coil. LoL
I've had good luck with the Detect 13" Ultimate coil.
Very light for its size.
Goes quite deep.
And so far very stable.
Like the 15" WOT, it seems to miss most of the tiny bits of aluminum.

Ive never really been fussed about micro type jewellry....just big fat rings lol.I bet that sniper will be brilliant for locating tiny targets, like you say there are many lost earings on the beach that are never found and a lot are shallow and tend to remain so.
I'm using the nel thunder at the moment....the 14x10 and its a brilliant coil with great coverage and depth.Only thing is its sensitivity......it still picks up tiny shards of aluminium at depth which i thought it may ignore.....just shows how good these coils are,at least i won't miss much.

Hey Nauti
How's that machine running ?
Any new digs ?

Nauti
I got it.
Hopefully it works as well for me.

No new digs at the moment......work is getting in the way.I'm itching to keep going on the beach as there seems to be a bit of jewellry coming up at the moment but i suppose i will have to be patient.I thought as i got older i would have more time for hobbies but it seems i have less.....can't figure it lol.Buried a quarter on my last dig in the damp sand at 12 inches just to see what kind of signal i would get with the nel coil.......good two way signal even with the coil raised off the ground a little.I will do a proper test soon but i think i will get rings at pretty good depths......i'm hitting the original type ring pulls at very good depths with good loud signals.

Awesome Machine.
Congratulations.
Love mine.
I put the box in an old blue purse of my wife's.
Perfect fit, drape it across my chest.
Occasionally it gets in the way digging deep.
Just slip it off and recover the deeps.
I was stunned when I accidentally discovered the Sovereign GT will hit good targets while in the Null.
Impressive Machine.
Now you can go back over the sites you hit with the modern junk machines and get what you missed.
Hope to see your many Awesome finds.
When I owned a Sovereign I used one of those chest-type binoculars holders I got from Cabela's. Worked great.

Awesome
Anxious to see anything you find.
I so wish I could be on the treasurer cost USA.
They'd probably find me with the gold doubloons in my cold dead hands with that Crazy grin on my face. 🙄😁😅
