Legend Day 2 Finds Gold

Folsom Don

Active member
Day 2 on the beach with the Legend. Finds included Ray Ban sunglasses and 3 rings of which one was gold – (1st gold with the Legend (y)). Went to a beach that had heavy EMI. The frequency shift wasn’t enough and had to lower sensitivity to 16 to make it tolerable. The Legend is a keeper!

My primary justification for purchasing a new detector is that my current one doesn't do well in the sand and isn't water proof.

Anyone figure out if the legend is better on the beach and in the water than the Simplex+? If not I may just save some money.

what did the gold ring ID at and what K is it? looks like others are SS. Did they ID the same as the gold?

Thanks

I've never owned a simplex but on Cocoa beach my Legend isn't doing well at all. I can't get it to be stable in the wet sand and water. There's a new update soon that I hope will address this issue. If not then I made a mistake in buying this machine because I only hunt the beach in wet sand and water. Other than that I like the detector. Got my fingers crossed for the update.

Apparently there is a hidden adjustment for stability

The braided ring (Stainless Steel) came in at 21
The gold ring (14k) came in at 49-50
The other ring (unknown metal) came in at 17
Just found a silver ring (pic - not real diamonds) came in at 44

Well hopefully I didn't make a mistake, but I ordered the pro-pack because I saw the price increase on the Nokta website and there's no way I was going to pay $900 (might as well do $100 and get the Nox 800 at that point). I watched a couple of videos showing it do well in the wet salt beach so I thought there may be a chance.

That said, I apparently missed the cutoff for the first shipments by a day, so I who knows when my detector will come or if I will be asked to fork over additional money.

If they do ask for more money I am tempted to just go nuts any buy the Deus II. That one seems to be a monster in the wet sand.

The Notka website only shows the MSRP price. I believe the discounted price is still available from dealers.

Fantastic finds. The Legend is a great machine. Too bad it's so heavy and unbalanced for me. At my age every ounce counts. Just traded it back to Richard for a lighter machine. I's in PRISTINE condition for a person that wants a practically new Legend Pro Pac, if he hasn't already sold it.

Willy with the exception of the deus, they are all heavy, I' 68, have a bad shoulder , bad back, (had disk fusion last week). Even though it will be 3 months before I get back out there, I use a shoulder harness, I even use a GPX 4500 when looking for gold

Was looking at legend possibly for jewelry hunting parks and beach so ita a keeper?

Haven't used the Legend in parks yet. I strictly use it on the beach and it is definitely a keeper! The build quality is exceptional and pairing the wireless headphones to the detector is sooo much better than the Nox. Minor gripe is the way you have to charge the detector is not as easy as the Nox. Also my charging light stop working on the detector - not sure how to fix it. It charges OK, just don't know if charging has completed without turning 'it on.

Just curious as i have back issues what machine is much lighter than the 2.9 lb legend? Everything else i had was much heavier
