9 inch hi freq vs 9 inch eliptical hi freq

Tbone1

Active member
So I am primarily a dirt hunter. Live in the Pacific NW
Have the Deus 1 and 2 and use the 2 primarily.
I do have the 9 inch HF coil for the 1 and wondering if the benefits of the eliptical hf coil would add anything to my ability to look for gold jewelry.
I see it offers a higher frequency than the concentric hf coil.
Appreciate any feedback!
Thanks!

In my opinion the benefit would be getting close in and around tight spots better.

It isn't as deep as the regular round one.

Would be a good size for small yards or tot lots

Thanks for that Tim
Makes sense. Hesitant to invest more in Deus 1 as I’m using it so much less now that I have the 2 . If there were a significant advantage because of the higher frequency I might.
Waiting patiently for other coils to be offered on the Deus2. The 9 inch is pretty awesome though!

I too wanted to hold on to my regular deus as a back up or for a friend.

I mean.....what a heck of a back up machine the deus is for sure.

I used my deus 2 the first time yesterday in the fast program.

I was very surprised at the better depth response on target id without adjusting the recovery speed or bumping up the sens at all compared to the original deus.

But it should be deeper as I do believe that multi freq is doing something for sure.

Now as far as investing in another coil goes.....well....it would not be a bad thing at all.

Heck, you could keep your deus 1 as a back up or for loan for a friend.....don't let me take and talk you out of that elliptical coil by any means.

It is a good tool to have for tight spots for sure

But you may have my kind of luck......as soon as you buy it.....XP will release one for the deus 2!!!!

So maybe....you should be on the look out for a used one.

Here is my delimma.....I kind of want another Orx to have the complete line up!!!

But I don't need one....it is just the idea of wanting another one!!

And I would probably not use it much!!

Be patient & wait for a 9.5X5" for the Deus 2.----I think they will come out with one for it--they already have the molds for that coil having made that size coil for the D1 & ORX.

whats you r soil like ? is it mineralized? the 9x5 is a killer on gold in that 1st 4 inches, I was thinking of getting that one for my ORX just for sidlines and pickeck tables & tot lots, if its depth the round one will do a bit better

The round 9" X-35 coil was considerably deeper than the 9.5X5 elliptical (on either the D1 or ORX) in my mineralized ground.

Great replies!
I appreciate the input!
Considering that the Deus 1 is primarily back up now spending 300 bucks for a coil when I already have the 9 inch the 11 inch and the 9 inch hf seems a little foolish.
Guess I’ll wait and see what XP will come out with for the d2. Loving the 9 inch. Have the 11 inch pre ordered.
What’s up with their production?

Sounds like I need a loan from you. JK. Seriously were you comparing the depth of the D1 and D2 on the same object with the same size coil? Understand the D2 may offer a bit more depth but would the D1 still have picked up w/o a direct comparison?

I have not been able to run them side by side yet due to family circumstances. However, since most of the coins I did dig up were all in the 7 inch and deeper range I know already that in the deus fast on the deus 1, it would not have had an easier time hitting the targets without making some recovery speed and sens adjustments.

In my previous test on the regular deus in the factory fast program, it would not hit deeper coins in my test garden.

But not I have to make another test garden due to a tornado we had last december.

I have not had a chance to figure out where to put the new one yet.

we need a super light weight big coil of 15 inches that weighs no more than the 9inch coil as more depth is needed
