Manticore and 3030

Jayyes do you really think there will b a new versions of the ctx within two years
Yes, after the Nox then came the Vanquish and GPZ7000, the vanquish was to compete with the simplex, the nox for the deus, the manticore for the deus 2, and the Excal II. Now I believe they will release a new flagship detector, which on their website the CTX is still on top of the list, If they can make FBS2 or maybe a new version of FBS2 with a super fast processor and more 2d/3d target trace and keep it under $3k I believe the diehards will gobble them up along with anybody that has money to burn. Just my opinion I have no inside knowledge or little birdies telling me anything. Look at the suprise of the Manticore, Minelab locks that info down hard.

Greetings from Greece,

According a friend of mine who is member of the Minelab official dealer in Greece and both of them have direct contacts with the CEO of Minelab (This weekend there is a Festival here in Greece and CEO's of OKM and Minelab will be present), there will be a new CTX next year. Just curious and eager what tech will they apply to it but would be perfect, like you said Jayyes, to include 3D target trace! Furthermore, the cost - according to them - will be around 3K.

I guess my gut had the right feeling. If I didnt own an *00 and a CTX I would buy the Manticore, It looks to be a great machine/upgrade to the 800, but I have 1000's of hours between the 2 detectors and find tons in so called hunted out OLD parks and I am still pulling silvers from under the junk layer. I have built some very effective techniques and know how to tweak to match the ground. I look forward to mastering the new CTX.

One of my favorite tests EVER was when Calabash tested the Equinox against the CTX. Anybody who has seen his videos has immediately asked themselves….HOW THE HELL is he getting that kind of depth?? NONE of my soil is like that, yet the Equinox and even other machines were hitting on 9-10” dimes like they were pop cans! Well….for SOME reason he couldn’t get the CTX to do as well, or so he seemed to show. The real laugh about watching that for me was knowing that people who have the CTX and have spent the time with it and know what it does were probably laughing just as I was at the ludicrousness of the ”test”.
I understand…if you don’t like the weight and/or don’t want to spend that kind of money, I get it. But don’t use those two factors to tell me what the actual performance and relevance of the features are, they’re not related as stated above. “Light and fast” means diddly sh*t to ALOT of people if you don’t have a decent idea of what your target is. If they made a CTX where the ONLY things changed were the weight and speed and all of that was an IMPROVEMENT IN PERFORMANCE AND TID? I’m all in, show me.
Yup agree, New people to detecting I always tell them do not rely on just one or two peoples review of a machine, some are paid to say things, are biased to another brand etc. I love taking the time to learn a new machine and understand what changes do and why. I have followed behind a buddy with his CTX and me having my CTX after adjusting for the ground and conditions I was plucking silvers and clad out of the junky park. When we was done he said this place is hunted out he ran the stick coin program in auto, since ground heavily mineralized i ran my custom program.

i wonder why they would come out with a new 3030 if the manticore would only be a year old
seems to me it too soon

I definitely agree with you. I can't see new ctx yet. Doesn't make any sense to release new machine after new machine. That way they will lost money. I believe minelab strategy is like others. They need to coming with something new so they will not lose costumer. Minelab release ctx 3030 in 2012, equinox in 2017, Manticore 2022 they need few year between releasing flagship machines.
