I bought a Sharpie extra fine paint pen with white oil paint and carefully painted the grooves in the pushbuttons and fine lines around raised portions on the left right buttons. It sure makes them easier to see with my old eyes. I don't know how long it will last but there's plenty of paint left over to redo it if needed.

yep that was the first thing I did on my Legend when I received it, and you are correct those buttons are extremely hard to see when you are first trying to learn where everything is located

I also highly recommend getting a dust cover or screen protector on your legend if you haven't already because the screen on the Legend scratches very very easy

Likewise , did that first thing with some white enamel , painted the entire buttons , waited for it to dry a bit and wiped them down until only the symbols were highlighted. I may do it again soon as they're getting a bit dim/dirty. I imagine Nokta considered accenting the symbols at one time but realized it would eventually become a warranty issue with some people and decided against it.

I purchased the screen covers listed under accessories for the Legend on the Nokta website. They are called Nano Glass Screen Protectors and they fit perfectly and are supposedly scratch proof. There is also one for the Simplex

Nokta has a new control head cover also that includes the button highlights. I have 2 on backorder.

I was wondering about that as it can be hard to see. Milwaukee makes a construction grade sharpie that is resistant to wear and is available in a silver color to write in dark areas.
Anyone used those? And i was inquiring about covers had a dealer look into it for me and never heard back. Where do you get the manufacturer advertised ones?
Apparently just like phone cases you can find generic ones on ebay and such but don’t know who has the ones from NM

yep I purchased two of those with the highlighted buttons, I personally do not like them because they do not stay aligned with the buttons on the Legend I have to fiddle with trying to locate the buttons when detecting because the covers will not stay aligned I ended up putting my denos covers back on because of the alignment issue, they are nice looking though

IF NOKTA COLORED THE BUTTONS , when the paint got dirty or wore off I am sure there are dipsticks out there that would try to make it an issue for warranty repair or replacement
I think they should make them with highlighted buttons I wouldn’t think people would have any credible claims for warranty as it is just normal wear and tear.
If they do i have alot of tools that should be replaced even tires as the some of the white lettering has faded off.
Clothing, heck my car, house could use a new paint job, the list is endless.

Are you auditioning for that dipstick classification?

And thought the muddy gloves I wear was a cheap way to highlight the buttons…..

Anyone try these for highlighting buttons

I wish they would illuminate the buttons.
With markings embedded into the buttons.
I think its a popular enough preference that they might do it in the future and a good selling point. but for the ones already out not sure if the covers are a good option as some say they move around.
Going to eventually try one of these liquid ink pens, probably going to test it on something else first
