Had about an hour to hunt, I'm happy with the 1943 war nickel, don't know why but I like finding old nickels

You are correct, the coin books say 35% silver content. I've found a good number of them over the years and the vast majority read as a regular nickel. Occasionally one will come through with a funky reading for some reason. I recovered 3 this year, in fact, and on the Nox two read 12/13 and the other 16-19. It was partially on edge and over 6" deep, however. HH jim tn

Yea I have dug them at strange singles, but when I got it I was happy
 
I swear I answered this yesterday but apparently the Chinese gooblygook got it!!!
