Been watching them for 20 days so far.

Incubation period is 22-28 days,no idea how long they were there before I found them,male and female both take turns setting on the eggs,all I know is it wanted me away from that nest. Rain tomorrow,so Tues. I'll check again,within hours after hatching the chicks are up and running,if no pics of this brood I took some several years back when I mowed down there.,I even caught one of the little runners,of course I took a pic and let it run. Turn the volume up.

Two have hatched,one just coming out of the shell,you can see it's beak.

They sure can run for such a tiny thing,I ran it down though

I don't quite understand why you would piss the parents off by going so close to the nest and then handle the chick's.........is it for research.

Get anywhere the nest and they try to draw you away,I only ran one chick down....just to see if I could.
