Found my first gold coin and some other goodies last week in England

Dug my first gold coin in England last week!! A 1911 George V milled gold half sovereign! The reverse showcases the iconic image of St. George slaying the dragon. I absolutely love it! I also found a beautiful hammered groat, a couple milled silvers, a bunch of relics, and the usual coppers and buttons as well. It was such a great hunt!

Did you get to bring them home?
Not yet. It typically takes about 6 months to go through the process and everything be cleared and approved for export. Sometimes gold items or treasure items can take a lot longer though (years) but since it's a milled gold and not part of a hoard it should hopefully be cleared much sooner. It was hard to say good bye.

It's like waiting on that Christmas present to come. Again great finds I'm jealous 😄

You will get your gold coin back, no problem. Not very old and of no historical significance. Except its a totally AWESOME find for you !!!!

Congrats... It took me 15 years of hunting England to find my 1st gold coin. Took the whole day for the heart to stop racing!!!! WTG !!

My avatar is my 1st gold. 1695 William 3rd. No delay in getting it back.
