CTX 3030 compared to Manticore

Instead of attacking tnsharpshooter, just don’t watch his videos.

If you do watch them just realize he is showing detector behavior in an inert, air test only environment and the results he shows are definitely valid for that scenario and he is not going to back down from that reality.

Do I wish he would do the same type of testing but include a few inches of moderately mineralized dirt in a 10” black plastic gold prospecting pan or just the bottom of a plastic gallon milk jug, sure.

When I do try to replicate his results using dirt as the detecting medium instead of just air, my results are often very different from his. That’s okay however since his test prompted me to do something similar but with dirt included and I learned even more about how my detector can or can’t deal with that scenario.

Do I wish he would stop posting video after video on this and other forums, definitely. But that’s just my opinion.

Nobody was "attacking" him, just responding to a post that may influence newcomers to the hobby in a negative way, thats my point and i don't want to see anybody buy a certain metal detector,or indeed refuse to buy one on the strength of tests that are totally innacurate and false.......i did when i didn't know any better and it can be an expensive mistake.......most on this forum know better but newcomers to the hobby may be influenced by his "tests".

Excellent point Nauti.

I got your points in your other posts.

You didn’t get one of mine. Most of David’s results for the way he is conducting his tests are not false. They are actually valid, repeatable and true for the conditions he is conducting them in.

Do they apply to the real world from my own personal experiences? Rarely.

Arguing with him will get none of us anywhere and just creates more controversial posts. Just ignore the guy.

There is mothing about your post i never got........the whole point of my original post is his tests are totally invalid in real detecting conditions,it matters not one jot that they may be valid in the conditions he is conducting them in.How many people do you think conduct their detecting on blocks of foam or in the air......
Yes they may be relevant in such an unreal scenario but that scenario is totally irrelevant in reality and no use to anyone.
I won't be commenting on any of his video's again.
