Got a little bonus today

Not a lot of targets around. A little bit of junk jewelry and the usual tabs and bottle caps. Had a bit of a wide but soft signal that made me think there was a can deep in the sand in the water. I dug it even though I suspected a can. Six scoops and a cell phone comes up. Android phone, did not bust the screen digging it, it won't take a charge or power up at all. Take the protective case off and there is $30 in bills looking back at me stored in the case. Not gold or even silver, but I'm happy with $30.

I always get a little excited when I take the case off a phone. I've found cash several times. Once i found a payroll check and returned it to the guy. He was happy as hell because he needed it right away and couldn't wait for another check.

I have found 6 cell phones so far and was able to return 4 that still work to the owners.. the other other two were dead…. Have never found any cash inside the case though, but have heard of it.
I believe the last one I found may have had a driver’s license in it though. Along with a credit card.

Used to be that finding a waterlogged pack of cigarettes on the beach might yield a couple of dollar bills stuffed in the pack. Now it seems a cell phone case might have replaced the cigarette pack for stashing that cash.
