My Coiltek 9x5 works great on my 600 but not so much on my 700.Everything that I’ve read says it should be compatible with all of the Equinox detectors.What gives?

Coiltek 10x5 weak signal on 700

I bought a used one recently and it works great on my 800, but do not have the 700 or 900.
I do have the XTP though, but have not used it on that one yet.
It should work just as well on the 700 as the 600…. Not sure what the issue is.
I bought mine from another forum member that used it on the 900, and did very good with it and really liked it, but had to sell his 900 due to health issues.
Just curious…. Are you using different headphones between the 600 and 700?

I’m using the headphones that came with each detector.The 6 and 11 inch coils that came with the 700 work great on the 600 and vice versus.Both were in multi frequency mode.

This is an odd issue…. Maybe others have had similar issues and can help.
Early on I seem to recall some were having issues with the 6” coil on the 700 or 900.

I have not had that issue yet on the 800 with that coil….

I experienced the same thing. The coiltek is super sensitive and sensitivity does have to be reduced compared to the stock equinox coil. I can run the stock coil at 24-25 with no problems then switch over to the coiltek and have to drop the sensitivity to 17 or 18. Find an iron infested area and work that coil slow. This is where this coil will shine. Otherwise, I run the stock coil.

I believe you told me this when I bought the coil from you, but forgot.
Does not seem to be as bad on my 800…..at least what few times I have used it.
Seems to work fine on the OP’s 600 too.
Must be due the upgrades on the 700 and 900.
Good information in case I try it on my XTP.

It’s possibly a glitch with the 700’s programming. I did a factory reset,tried sensitivity from 15-24,and still has to right next to the target to register anything.The same coil on my 600 has no problem hitting 10” minnie balls in my test garden.
