    In reality which version you have will make no difference in real world hunting. If it locks on you have a find.. The slight difference is negotiable .

    Have gold bug same machine as g2. The best relic hunter for a vlf. No messing with menues.. my 800 will only beat it by maybe 15 to 20 percent. Not worth the cost and the ergonomics. Gold mode is best though. To each his own.. take care all fun digs.

    One is waterproof the other is not. Last time on the outbanks I tried to get in the cut with an eqx 800 to much wave action beat the hell out of me Florida beaches might be better. Sometimes it is like a lake. Outer banks are never calm .

    I had a friend over for detecting I was using a gold gug pro he was using an atx pro no difference . We checked every target. Both are about the same in real world hunting. One was no better than the other. Both are fine detectors.

    I use trond and works well but the rx is on my arm with ear buds plugged in , you are then not tethered to machine works well. TX is velcrowed to detector. Very small modules works for me.
