    Not a great seal, no circle over the eagle. Need the back mark to date it but the style is a staff button, predates 1908 and could be cw.

    Its not the style thats in question, its the backmark. The style was used past WW2

    I never know if I should crush someone's beliefs in their find or Let It Go. Jacob reeds sons was formed in 1880 and lasted till 1983. That is a nice button, but probably much later judging by the casting.

    T2 coil problem

    Drove 45 minutes to a permission today and my detector would not work. I isolated it down to the coil as the 5 inch coil i had at home works. No rips in cord or wear on coil, anyone else have that issue happen?

    ok not just today. last two weeks.

    I've seen those called Confederate see results and they're pretty pricey. I note they don't have a nice patina on them, are you cleaning them? If so don't clean them that much
