Loss of long time forum friend Monte Berry 😥

Sorry to hear about Monte. Never met the man but I always enjoyed reading his post and articles. The Metal Detecting community has lost a national treasure with his passing. Rest in Peace my friend

    RG 1000 Manual

I just picked up a used RG1000 and it didn't come with a manual. Searched the web and could not find anything online. Does anybody know where I can find one? Thanks

    Garmin eTrex 20

Anyone here using the eTrex 20? I received one the other day as a birthday gift and was really excited. The thing looks cool. Now this being my first GPS it seems to me that it is hard to put in your coordinates. I did download basecamp on my computer. Is there a easier GPS out there to use for...

    MXT PRO Coin Magnet

I borrowed my brothers MXT PRO w/ 5.3 eclipse coil and found out this thing is a coin magnet. Went down to the local school which I hit regularly with the V3. Found $10.20 in change, small 925 silver pinky ring, junk ID bracelet and a bullet. This machine is so nice and easy to operate. I like...

    Need another detector!

Whites Coinmaster would be a good starter. Has a VDI readout. Simple to use and not heavy at all. If weight isn't an issue you could go with a M6....excellent machine and you can swap coils betwwen the V3i and M6

Jersey Shore...How's the Beaches After Irene?

My brother and I are going to Jersey tomorrow for the day. Don't know which beach yet, probably Ocean City. How are the beaches? Are they sanded over? Personal I don't think it matters either way, whatever is there could be anywhere and you still have to put your coil it..But I sure would like...

Best Coil? 5.3 or 4x6 or any suggestions?

I have them both along with the 6x10. You really can't go wrong with either coil. The 4x6 will give you better separation than the 5.3 due to being a DD coil. Also I found you can get closer to swing sets and metal poles with the 4x6 coil.

Here is why you MUST dig those deep, "iffy" signals!

Thanks for the info Neil. Think it's time for V3 to go to Whites for the upgrade.

Detecting with Two Different Filter/Recovery Speeds Simultaneously.

Thanks for the tip Neil. Can't wait to try it in the field. Now if it would just get warmer here in Pa.

D2 coil cover is one tight fit.... Any Help?

I have used plastic shims that I have for woodworking. Just start inserting them between the coil and cover and it pops right off.
