    Hunted a football field today.

Nice finds! The bullet looks to be a .52 caliber Sharps round (Civil War era). There are several variations with different sized cavities on the base, but some had solid bases. There may be more there two!

Old tag, any ideas on the symbol?

My guess would be a miner’s tag too

Got Out Twice This Week !

Nice finds there Mark! Starting to have some cool weather down my way too and after seeing these finds, I am ready to get back to detecting on land as I have been detecting lakes and a river lately with the high temperatures.

    Nox 600

I do not have the 600, but have an 800 (few more features), but have a friend that uses the 600 and he loves it. Before that he had the Simplex, but likes the 600 much better. Still a very capable machine in my opinion.

    Finally found one!

Nice finds!!👍 Like stated above , that coin looks like it was lost shortly after it was minted. In 19 years of detecting, I have only found two of them.

    Any ideas

Looks like a printing plate to me… If it has small holes around the perimeter, it would ha been nailed to a small block of wood. Used for some type of advertising would be my guess. Neat find!!

I Think This Might Be The #1 Reason We Have So Much Competition Today

Well, actually in this case, he never used it after he bought it… only put it together and charged it up, then left it behind when he went to the beach a few months ago. As far as I know he has not used it yet..

I Think This Might Be The #1 Reason We Have So Much Competition Today

A guy I know bought a brand new detector to use at the beach last Christmas and only put it together and charged it before going to the beach a couple months ago, then told me he left it at home because he did not have room for it!! I do not look for that metal detector to get much use….🤭

I Think This Might Be The #1 Reason We Have So Much Competition Today

I have only been in the hobby for about 20 years now, but growing I never saw anyone detecting. The first time I saw someone detecting was in the early 90's on small beach at a state park. I never saw anyone else until quite a while after I got into the hobby. I agree with what others have...

Old Lock & Few Silver Coins and Jewelry

Nice finds there Dave! I like the lock…..I found one similar in size and shape to it some years ago and mine is shown in a Sears And Robuck reproduction catalog from 1897 and 1902, so I think you are correct in the era it was made. The silver cover you mentioned is a watch cover? Looks to be...
