I think metal detecting is becoming a dying hobby ....

I still carry change and deal mostly with cash, but I realize not many carry either anymore. I still check each Coinstar machine I pass by too.

    Apex detecting pick modifications

Nice results! I have a couple picks I used when detecting in rivers and I used to carry one on my belt even though it was heavy. I know keep them in a float tube that I have tethered to me, and prefer this method better, as I use the tube to safely keep other items from being lost too. I’m...

I Want To Go Sand Flea Beach Hunting ?

I occasionally get them in my scoop while beach hunting, but also have seen folks using that device shown and it is very effective. I understand they make great bait. Sometimes when I see them in my scoop, I show them to small kids.

I prefer winter detecting more than summertime…..that heat gets to me now. Luckily I live in an area where the ground seldom freezes.

State park rules suck here too. I went to one a few years ago where I saw others detecting long before I started the hobby, and when I stopped by the office to make sure it was still OK, I was told they changed the rules since more people were detecting there and I needed a special use permit...

    Got a little bonus today

Nice score on the cell phone and cash! I have found 6 cell phones so far and was able to return 4 that still work to the owners.. the other other two were dead…. Have never found any cash inside the case though, but have heard of it. I believe the last one I found may have had a driver’s...

Not a today find, but wanted to share a recent find after a long dry spell

Your persistence sure paid off. I have never searched for gold, but I bet it is exciting when you start finding it. Thanks for posting!👍👍

I I found a loonie a few years ago….they are big coins, but do not give high readings like a quarter from what I recall.

I know what you mean about the heat…. I am not much for detecting when it is hot myself. I usually resort to detecting in lakes and rivers once it starts getting hot.
