Interesting find made with my Quattro

Using the bottom character on your coin, I think it dates from 1821-1850. I am having trouble with my internet, but as soon I am back up, I will send more information to you. Nice find!!

    X-Terra Elite On The Way

Nice choice! I too have an XTP. At some point you might be interested in getting the 5x8 coil for it.

Interesting find made with my Quattro

I have found two or three of them around old house sites. As best as I can recall, the symbols on the ones I have are very similar to yours. Nice find! I found a website some years ago to help date the coins I found, but can’t recall the details.

Pretty interesting assessment Mark. I’m still running the 800, but bought an XTP to use in water. It has done well on land too and for the price, I am very pleased with it. Can you elaborate performance wise what you notice between the 800 and 900? Just curious….thanks.

My biggest one day tot lot haul ever!!

Ted, I occasionally run the 6” coil on my 800 and as long as I do not try to move too fast, it does well even in larger areas..I think i tend to hunt closer with it than i do with the stock coil sometimes. Sure makes the detector lighter too allowing me to hunt longer too..

My biggest one day tot lot haul ever!!

I bet that grassy area was loaded too Donna… a buddy and I stumbled on to a site like this a few years ago…. Apparently it had never been detected or had not been detected for a long time.. the wood chip areas were loaded with coins and the grass was polluted with coins!! Fortunately we did not...

I got in the water today

Great finds…. And I bet the water was nice too…. That’s one way to beat the heat and keep detecting… I tried river hunting for the first time last year and had a ball finding coins… all modern except for a late 17- early 1800’s large cent that I found near an old ferry crossing.

That badge is from an old bicycle I believe. Do a search for “BERRY COHEN SPECIAL badge”.

One ugly ring, 7 dollar coins

You had a great outing…7 dollar coins in one hunt is fantastic!!!

Beginner but serious with a hunting goal. What are excellent detectors to go down 24” deep? Thanks in advance for solid recommendations.

Sounds like you would need a “two box” detector…. They are made for looking for items items that are deep.

Pretty impressive there Mark. That IH was not only elusvie, but well protected under that root. The reason I asked about modern trash is I was wondering how it does on coins close that type of trash. Seems like others prefer that 9” coil as well. Looking at that root reminded me of a signal I...

Finds from a couple of water hunts

My guess is maybe part of an earring, but not sure. Maybe even a nose ring..
