    River find today....any ideas?

I found this while detecting near an old ferry site today and was wondering what it may be part of. My first thought it part of an oil lamp. it is somewhat oval shaped, but may have been completely round at one time. There is also a slot running some along its lenth. Any ideas? Thanks for looking!

    Mangled Morgan, Walker and Barbers

Amazing finds as usual Dave! Too bad about the mangled Morgan dollar. Sorry to hear of the loss of your parents…losing one is hard, but both within days apart had to be very difficult for you. Sounds like you have very fond of memories of both though which hopefully helps you cope at this...

Flying eagle out of the heavy iron

Great find!!!! They sure do not show up very often! I think they were only minted 2-3 years from 1856-1858 I believe, so your date should be in line with these dates. In 1853, large cents were still being minted.

    Old lock found yesterday....

That is great that you are keeping them…👍👍 Saving little bits and pieces of history! I have found several old thimbles while metal detecting around old house sites…..they are either brass or copper, but unfortunately mashed.

    Old lock found yesterday....

That I am not sure….i think it says Trailways Bus on it. I figured just hard plastic… It is very light, so most likely plastic.
