Where can I MD around Estes Park, Colorado without getting arrested?

I just found out today that our family reunion will be held next July in Estes Park, Colorado at The Fawn Valley Inn. It seems like the area is surrounded by National Parks, National Forests and State Parks. Is there any place my wife and I can MD near there legally? Being from Ga. I have...

    Beach Day Blues

Bought At-Pro new on 4/11/11. Didn't like the balance so I bought a "Gizmo" and that helped fix the problem. Noticed a few little chirps at the end of a swing now and then after a week or so, but no big deal. ( I hoped ) Then the machine would not retain the custom settings and the factory...

    Best Waterproof pinpointer?

I'm going to be looking to buy a waterproof pinpointer. I will be using it primarily in my fresh water hunting normally waist deep with snorkel, chest deep max. I have trouble recovering targets when they are over 8 inches deep with a long handled sand scoop and I think a WP pinpointer might...

My main problem when hunting is aluminum.:sad:

My main problem when hunting is aluminum. Can slaw, pull tabs, pieces of siding, partial pieces of cans, small pieces of flashing, bottle caps, small pieces of foil from bags, etc. I like to detect with little or (mostly) no discrimination so I go in my backyard, lay out a variety of crap I...

    Custom mode won't retain changes

After about 3 weeks of use my new AT-Pro won't retain my customized settings in the CUSTOM mode. Also the factory preset in custom and coin modes are all wrong. When turned on the custom mode shows 75 to 99 notched out plus 60 to 65 regardless of how many times I change it or try to reset it...

    X-Terra waterproof? Someday?

Also posted on another forum " But the AT Pro is waterproof. HH" Yes it is waterproof and that is the only advantage it has over my XT-70/XT705's. I have had the AT-Pro for a little over a week now, have used it almost everyday. Boy, Minelab has spoiled me, but I needed a waterproof MD cheap...

Silver uMax in freshwater how safe?

I have been using my Silver uMax at a freshwater beach with no problems. However I only allow myself to hunt in the water to a depth of 1 1/2 ft. max. How much deeper can I safely go using the stock coil? The good stuff is in 3 to 4 ft. of water. How deep are these coils rated as "waterproof"...

Techniques used to dig targets in 3 ft.+ water

Techniques used to dig targets in 3 ft.+ water Posted this message here and at AT PRO forum. My wife and I have been hunting a freshwater beach with good success for about three months. In the late fall this small body of water is partially drained, exposing old beach area man made in 1952...

Techniques used to dig targets in 3 ft.+ water

My wife and I have been hunting a freshwater beach with good success for about three months. In the late fall this small body of water is partially drained, exposing old beach area man made in 1952. Merc. dimes are common! As you would expect this opens up all kinds of goodies for MD at the new...

Two park hunts nothing to show...

coinstar Yep, sure have. Change it up. What kind of areas have you been hunting? Ask a friend or neighbor permission to hunt their back yards. Go hunt a beach if you have one close enough. Try an open field. I don't know where you live so it's hard to make suggestions. Do something different...

Here is why you MUST dig those deep, "iffy" signals!

Neil That is unbelievable! If I ever found something like that it might be my last! Don't know if the old ticker could take it. How long have you had the V3i? You using 7.5kHz, right? I'm a big fan of iffy signals. http://www.findmall.com/read.php?55,1415332 More good hunting to you. Denny

In defense of the stock coil

At a fresh water beach in Ga. over the weekend my wife and I found a 14k gold baby size ring just short of 9 inches deep in the sand, using the 9" concentric 7.5 kHz coil. We were amazed. The band of the ring is only 1.2mm thick for most of it, raising up to 5mm high center front. OD is 14mm. I...
