    First gold this year

Yes, it wasn’t too bad for the short time I was out there. I also found a pair of newly lost wire cutters that didn’t detect in the picture. The other rings were costume jewelry unfortunately.

    First gold this year

Had to put some miles on the old buggy to warm it up for emissions test so I drove out to West Valley Utah about 10 mi. From Salt Lake. I stopped at Centinneal Park and got out the D2. First signal was a 74. Dug two nickels too my surprise then hit a couple of clad dimes. Took a few steps and...

    Cleaning clad question

I have always cleaned my copper with the Lortone 3 lb. Tumbler barrel, using epoxy coated gravel and 1 tablespoon of the spice Cream of Tarter and 1 drop of dawn. Fill the barrel with 3/4 full of epoxy gravel, parting it and placing in 125/130 Pennie’s and just cover the gravel with water...

Another great beach hunt big silver!

What a nice hunting area you have, and it seems people had money to loose and holes in their pockets. I’d walk out of the house every day with the biggest smile. And you’re so good at finding it, congratulations.

Not sure if it matters which hand if it’s as you say the upwards slip is a usage thing. I guess the next best thing is to create a stop by wrapping perhaps a piece of I/4 “ elastic rope just above your grip and secure it with gorilla tape.

That’s new one, you would think the constant rubbing would push the control up and off the stem after all this time. Which you don’t want to happen for sure. Should be easy to remedy by moving the stem further up above the thumb, just an inch or so, so the control clears your grip.

Finding Gold Jewelry xp deus 2

I think you can up your range a little more because I have found several large gold rings in the low eighties and a 22 K ring at 91. Just a tip.

    Tuesday Finds

Good finds for a cool day. Got up to heavy snow flakes coming down here and slobbered most of the day with drizzle.

    Todays finds....

Nice haul, never found a challenge coin either. It always surprises me too when I find more quarters than dimes.

    WS6 will not power on

Yes, you are right about that. I boned up on the 3.7 volt batteries and previously was comparing them with a much larger capacity battery in my mind. They live quite comfortably within their range and sensitive to overcharge/ under charge and temperature change during charge conditions. His...
