Always ceases to amaze me what shows up on the beach !!! Post some of the weirdest things you've found !!!

Four tooth gold bridge and the other day a gold crown. My dentist told me that he had not seen bridge work like that since the late 60s, early 70s. Before the dental finds the weirdest finds were crematorium tags. Left those in situ.

    Help with strange object needed!

An early golf ball lol. Whatever it is, it is unique. Cool find.

Travelling to Florida looking for info

Lots of detectors and lots of sand at Daytona. Consider New Smyrna Beach south of Daytona or St Augustine Beach further north. The finds are out there and the 800 is a great machine in both the wet and dry sand. Good luck and let us know how you do.

    Ace 400 falsing

Yes cherringtonsm, my Apex does the falsing thing too. On the beach I will get a good initial audio/visual signal then go back over the area and nothing, Very frustrating. I have turned down the sensitivity and that has eliminated falsing from ground bumps and waves going over the coil. I...

    Found rockhounding my landscape

Looks like some kind of a switch. I.E. safety switch from a firearm?

    Nothing at St Augustine Beach

My wife and I go to St. Augustine two or three times a month. We have found some nice finds there over the years, but lately there has not been much. I have mostly found pennies this year so far and she has had only a little better luck. We do not see a lot of detectors out there compared to...

    Some kind of plug

Agree with fyrffyter. Looks like a drain plug to me too. Threads allow it to open a little or a lot. The leather seal would make it water tight when fully closed. Just spit balling. Not sure of its exact function. An interesting old find Iowa.

    High Hopes

You too U2? Sounds like one of my many days at the beach lately.

First gold with the 15 inch. coil on the Equinox.

I would imagine your ring is one of a kind and hand made by a gold smith for someone very special. It looks old as well. Where was it found? Netherlands? Thanks for the feedback Opa!

So while beach hunting, always getting stopped for questions about machines and detecting.

I actually enjoy talking to people who are interested or curious. COVID has had an effect and not as many people stop to talk nowadays. I give my Matchbox cars to kids too and I carry a few replica coins, pirate treasure, to give to nice kids. I get all the usual questions too as indicated...

First gold with the 15 inch. coil on the Equinox.

That is one unique ring. Is the stone topaz? Aquamarine? Congrats on your find.

    South Carolina Beaches

Same here in Florida George, although Volusia County beaches -Ormond, Daytona, New Smyrna- are open, the closed beaches are being patrolled and access points blocked off. Jacksonville Beach consider any one on the beach to be a trespasser. Perhaps the silver lining is that finds will increase...

Florida beaches - which ones are open

Thanks for the Florida west coast update Lawrence. Volusia County beaches still open as noted above. Flagler Beach closed as of Monday 3/23.

    Florida Wet Sand/Water Hunting

Thanks for the feedback Ken. All of our beaches can be hit or miss. At least you found some targets and had some fun. I think Fort Lauderdale beaches are now closed due to the virus so you were lucky to get on at all.

Florida beaches - which ones are open

In my area Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach are open, but vehicle ramps are closed. Not a lot of people on the beach so parking off beach may not be an issue. St. Augustine Beach is open, but like Daytona and New Smyrna, the vehicle ramps are closed as are public parking lots so parking...
