Will the Vanquish enough to replace my MXT?

Some have broken the ears on multiple coils. Others (me, for example) have never had a coil ear break. It does seem as though frequent water-hunters experience more coil-ear breakages. The 600 has more features, more adjustability, and is waterproof (some claim that last part is questionable)...

    $399.00 Legend pro pack at

That is for the base package - no headphones, no extra coil. Still an amazing price for an amazing machine. There is an updated Legend coming though - carbon fiber upper rod, different arm cuff, and I think (not sure about this one) it comes with the LG30 coil.

Input please on upgrading my detector

My take... I've never owned or used the MXT so I cannot compare it to anything else. I did own a V3i, a MX5, and a MX Sport. I loved the V3i and the MX5. I liked the MX Sport. In their time I think all 3 machines were underappreciated performers. I currently own the Legend, the Anfibio, the...

Input please on upgrading my detector

You have a bunch of really good options. Multi-Frequency (in no particular order): XP Deus II - pricing from $800 to $1500 (list pricing). Minelab Equinox (600, 700, 800, 900) - pricing from $600 to $1200 (list pricing). Minelab Manticore - around $1500 (list pricing). Minelab Vanquish (340...

    Help with info please

As I understand it - and I could be wrong, as I do not own the Deus II and have never used one - the remote is waterproof, but the puck is not. My understanding is that the WS6 (puck) is weatherproof, but not waterproof. They sell a Deus II version with the remote (no puck). I believe that...

    Help with info please

XP sells a lite version of the Deus II. No remote. Just the puck/headphones, the coil, and the shaft. Call one of the forum sponsors for your best deal. I highly recommend Backwoods Detectors (Richard). Great guy with a lot of experience. Big Boys Hobbies (Bart) is very good as well.

    Help with info please

Yes, the Deus II is multi-frequency. I do not own one, so I don't know much about it. I believe it has fewer coil options, but more headphone options.

    Help with info please

Deus 1 has a lot more features (settings). The two work the same. Either is an excellent choice for relics. Not the best choice for beach hunting (unless it is dry sand). I have hunted wet (salt) sand with the ORX - it did OK, but there are better options if that is the type of hunting you'll do...

    Help with info please

XP uses a bit of marketing spiel when it comes to all the claimed frequencies. Most of those are offsets of the main frequencies - which vary depending on the coil. My understanding is that the remote is the receiver, and the coil does most of the lifting. There are batteries in the coils, the...

NOKTA MAKRO (LEGEND) GETTING SUED - PATENT INFRINGEMENT

I bought a CTX3030 shortly after they were released. I found that machine to be extremely frustrating - couldn't gel with it at all. Didn't like it at all and ended up selling it. Does that mean the CTX3030 isn't a good machine? Could it be a matter of my frustration getting in the way? Just...

NOKTA MAKRO (LEGEND) GETTING SUED - PATENT INFRINGEMENT

Your opening line is speculation at best. Minelab has, in a manner of speaking, made an accusation. That is what is known. How true that accusation is, is not known. It may never be known. What can be stated with a high degree of certainty is that you have no idea of how much...

NOKTA MAKRO (LEGEND) GETTING SUED - PATENT INFRINGEMENT

    1. How much R&D did Nokta engage in when developing the Legend? You seem to have some sort of insider knowledge to that regard; I'm just interested in learning how you came to have information that, to my understanding, isn't public. 2. Why would it take Nokta several years to bring the...

NOKTA MAKRO (LEGEND) GETTING SUED - PATENT INFRINGEMENT

I think it is on all of Minelab's machines. I know the two I own have holograms.

NOKTA MAKRO (LEGEND) GETTING SUED - PATENT INFRINGEMENT

I have no doubt that Minelab knows exactly what is "under the hood" of the Legend, but that doesn't explain why you're so eager to celebrate Minelab's actions. Without personal knowledge of some sort of intellectual theft going on, your opening post strongly suggests a bias against Nokta; which...

Does any of you all own both nox and legend?

I own both - a Legend and the 800. I think they both have strengths and weaknesses. Performance wise I consider them to be very close. Build wise, the Legend is far superior. The Nox has a simpler user interface. Pricewise, the Legend is superior. If I could have only one, it would be the...
