Deus 2 or manticore?

Hello all, I live in central Ohio mainly hunt parks and schools. I’m currently running a E trac and I’m looking to upgrade to some newer technology. I’m leaning towards the deus 2. from the videos and the posts I’ve read the Deus seems to be a little better in the iron.but I don’t know if that’s true after the Manticores most recent update. I just wanted some opinions of people that are using these machines. In and around iron

I do not have the D2, but did have a D1, can't knock the XP, great machine. But I do have the Manticore, both machines have a learning curve. With the Manticor, if it is Iron you are looking for, no problem, you can find it, if you do not want iron, also no problem, you can eliminate it, or at least 99%. A couple of the coins I would not have dug, because they sound like iron, I did dig because they showed up as being ROUND. I have finally begun to zero in on the nickles, without digging pull tabs, just wish there was more jewelry. Sorry for the blurred picture, 20 Euro cent.

They're both good machines I own both and use both I do prefer the D2 in the woods tight areas with the 9" coil the manticore I use in the water a lot because
I like the wired coil over the antenna on the D2

I agree. Also the Deus 2 needs to have coil charged. I kept the Manti. Less to worry about. The only worry is the Manti leaking. Happy hunting Mark kus.
 
You might consider the D1 if all you do is parks and schools in central Ohio. Under mild soil conditions, it's on par with the D2, but ~$400 cheaper with remote and headset.
However, if you plan to visit saltwater beaches or areas with hot soil like Arizona, then you will be better off with the D2.
For a MF detector the D2 pinpoints way better than Minelab's I've used, but not as good as the D1.
 
I have both and prefer the D2. It is lighter and Buick to jump out and go detecting. The Manticore has a learning curve ,I am still learning because it is my first Minelab. It is also heavier. So far can’t use earbuds but accessories are coming. Deus is cheaper to.
 
Buick should be built. Hate suggestive text and hurried to post and missed the blooper.
Just wanted to add the Deus has way more program options and far more user friendly. The Manticore has I slot for a favorite program, that’s it. Deus I hasn’t had any updates since Deus2 came out. The big draw back with D2 is screen size. But the audio is way better than the Manticore.

The tones on the manticore can be changed significantly I have found both are great machines I only have two detectors I own and when I forget to charge
my coil or controller or headphones which has happened more than once I have a backup!
