Manticore Depth Test Result - Not too impressed

Manticore.
I believe the 50% more was actually processing power.
Possibly more CPU memory even.
Can't find detailed specs on it.
I'm still learning mine.
Hopefully I live long enough to actually learn and enjoy it.
I can say with confidence that i do dig less rubbish with manticore , There are improvements to be seen. The speed of response between targets is extremely good IMHO.
I fitted a folding mechanism on mine and it is super slim when folded, slides into XP 280 Backpack like a snake, easily fits in the 280 backpack just like a d2 does.
Guys hunting junky sites will recover a lot more with Manticore. This is where it is shining on the junky sites.

"Hopefully I live long enough to actually learn and enjoy it" I am sure you will attain that goal Odanscoils. I some times think the same thing. The Metal Detectors become your true friend as many here might agree.

I cannot vouch for any depth, where I live you did great if you dig a hole 6 inches. even to get 6 inches in might take 20 min. because of the hard ground. I only want depth when I prospect, and have spent close to an hour digging a 24 inch hole, using my 4500.
but while using the manticore, I do not dig anywhere near the trash that I was digging. In the US, our nickles ring in about the same as pull tabs, I am able to put the nickle range 26-29 on a very high tone (I cannot hear low tones) and set the rest on a scale, which results in less trash for me.

Curious.
How do you run yours ? And recovery ?

Very nice rings Mark kus. 💍👍
I can't really explain what I can relate 50% to when it comes to the Manticore, maybe price $ 🤣, but I can say without a doubt that target separation is fantastic, along with unmasking targets next to iron. The adjustability of ferrous reject. Depth is also fantastic, even on the beach, right up there with the Deus II. It's ability to work in high EMI environments is also very noticeable.
I'm not really a screen watcher, I mostly go by the sound, but the Manticore has a beautiful screen, and I do find myself looking at it, and the 2D targets.
The adjustability of the settings is very user friendly, a few steps less than my Deus II.
I do really like it. What I don't like is trying to find a M8 coil for it, every place I can't find one it's pre-order.

The coils are like hens teeth LOL Never seen those before either. ML is only letting out a few in the USA. I really don't expect you can beat the stock coils for all around performance based solely on past units. The exception are out there.

I talked to Richard at Backwoods, and he said that he got one M8 coil in recently, but it was already spoken for. He stated probably no more until next year. He was kind enough to put me on the list. One thing I know is that I've got a long wait because I'm now at the bottom of that list. Better late than never I guess.

I got lucky and got a M8 coil from Ron's Detectors Minelab. It was the last one he had from a batch he received. I'm not sure if or when he will receive any more, but it seems they are slowly coming in. Probably best to contact all your dealers, and if they don't have any, have them put you on the waiting list. I refuse to prepay for a pre-order because you never know where you're going to find one, but that's just me.

Why are you guys having problems getting m8 coils over there.......they are in stock all over the place in the uk.

Seems just small batches of the coils are coming here, and when we finally do get a shipment, they are gone instantly because of the high demand. I haven't even tried to find a 15" coil yet, but it's the same way trying to find one of those right now. I mainly wanted a M8 coil first for the target separation capabilities. I'm sure that I will find the 15", but it will probably be next year by the way it looks. All the dealers here advertise pre-order only for the moment.

FORT BEDFORD METAL DETECTORS has 15" in stock on their site
