Almost Lost the Mi 6 pin-pointer

Waterdog

Well-known member
I was out detecting in some 5 to 10 inch plus deep grass today . Not many targets and I had gone fifty feet when I realized I had misplaced the Mi 6 pin-pointer. I knew on the old xp 1 it had a research function, but on the xp 2 I did not know how to use it ...yet. So I spend a lot of time looking for it as I could not find the research on the net. I finally found it in a clump of fifteen inch grass,
Good thing to post on how to find it on the xp 2

Lanyard is your friend I lost mine once used my D1 to find it

Lost mine with the D1 also, problem is the MI6 needs to be on in order to find it. Took an hour of back tracking and I was lucky enough to find it.Now every pinpointer is on al lanyard, even my screwdriver, lost a few of those also

I lost my mi6 pin pointer on the xp 1 and my friend who knew about the research feature. They turned the research feature on and my mi6 started beeping when I got closer . I do not think the mi6 pin pointer was on when I lost it .

No need to be on - it is in the same readiness mode like a coil if powered off. But to use the find feature the pinpointer must be paired with the remote or the WS6 master puck.

In manual mode. Pointer will turn off in 5 minutes looks like if left on. Hence lost pin pointer feature user must wait 5 minutes to successfully use lost feature.
