Coil question for the MXT experts ??

What are your thoughts on the 6x10DD vs 10”round DD for separation and depth performance?? I don’t use bigger coils than those. I guess while i am asking, how about any of the aftermarket coils of comparable size? Thanks for all or any advice in advance !! Tony-ok

Imo the 6x8 sef is way better than both of those . IT separates better than the 6x10 and gets the same depth of the D2 10 inch coil..just my opinion but in my Pennsylvania soil that's my 2 cents. . I think k the D2 coil is way too heavy for all it offers, I do like the 6x10 but it's depth capabilities are very limited.. Not so with the 6x8.. That suckered is deep on any whites.

I'm no expert but I agree with woodbutcher 100%. I used two coils the last several years of Whites detectors hunting, the 10X12 for general coverage sampling and cladding and the 6X8 for serious hunting.

I was looking on their website that they also have a 5x10”DD along with the 6x8”. It must be really new , I don’t see anyone talking about that coil . I try to do thorough research before i spend that kind of money. Thanks for your input. 😃

I am not familiar with anything White's for the last 10 years since I moved to the Minelab line but with coils, it is a constant trade-off when changing size. A 10 inch coil gives you two more inches in your search pattern vs. 8 inches but your search width goes from 6 inches to 5 which will probably affect your depth.

That was my thoughts, I emailed the company to see what information i could get from them about that very topic.
