Minelab has DISCONTINUED the EQUINOX 600 and 800 .....MANTICORE is on sale at $1299....Whats next for Minelab?

I see that Minelab has discontined the Equinox 600 and 800.
The Manticore has already been discounted down to $1299.
Whats Minelabs next move?
A big sale on the thousand dollar Equinox 900?
A new model that out performs the Manticore?
Anyone have details?

Objectively I’d say there was obviously product redundancy across the Equinox line. A waste of manufacturing resources. The NOX’s got the “improvements” incorporated in the 700/900’s that were asked for since it was first released. Dropping the 600/800 made sense and does not alienate those who still have them (me) as at least the coils and some other parts remain compatible with the 700/900. The price of the 900 isn’t justafiable IMHO.
I don’t know what ML is planning but the Manticore is still pretty new and the recent pricing of $1299. had me buy one. I really think there is so much “fat” in the pricing of all ML detectors that $1299. is more in line with the competition if not still more money. The Manticore and my D2 might turn out to be all I need, save for one or 2 PI’s I’ll still keep.

The new has wore off the Manticore pricing and the "fat" has came off as well. So what did you pay for your Deus? Seems to be a lot of "fat" involved there LOL

$799 for d2 with puck not bad considering it does the same on land as the more expensive model . Not $1299 like a manticore you have no choice on the manti . As far as dropping the 600 and 800 just dropping leakers lol .sube

Not where they were when they were introduced. I would prefer a complete machine. JMO

I disagree about your 800/900 redundancy theroy!
I sold my 800, and purchased a 900 after giving much thought to a Manticore.
The 800 was, (and still is) a great machine, but the improvements on the 900 were well worth the small price increase, after selling my used 800.
The 100 VDI scale was my biggest reason for upgrading, as I much prefer the scale up to 100.
The improved depth and improvement with interference were additional reasons.
The built in flashlight and vibration features were something I thought I did not need, but has actually been far more useful that I initially imagined!
And I am indeed finding new items with my 900, after searching the same area's with my old 800.
But my original post was not about redundancy!

Im simply looking forward to Minelabs next new machine!

I found pretty much the opposite. While I agree the build quality s a thing of beauty, and the added features of vibration, flashlight, red backlight were nice add ons . I didn't care for the expanded VDI. Performance wise I think the 800 with its compressed VDI is still the better machine. Going over area's that had hit hard with the 800 I didn't find much with the 900. And no silver. Likewise with the Legend. My first hunt this year was the 30th of Jan. Have got out about 20 times since. Using the Manticore, in the exact same area's I have dug over 30 silvers from a couple of old heavily hunted parks. I know some of the members here love their 900s but it was not for me. Which is strange cause I love my 800 and have taken to the Manticore as well.
As to your question Whats new for Minelab I read their next release will be a new gold machine some time next year. I know many folks are hoping for a CTX 4040 or something similar. Lets hope. Good luck

I loved my 600 and 800. They found so many great targets that I didn't even realize were in the ground after using a Deus 1, Etrac and F19 for many years. Then I got the 900 and like Mark, it just didn't do anything for me as a detector. Its physical improvements were fantastic but there was something wrong with how it detected in my area. It just didn't fit my conditions. I didn't find anything outstanding with it that the original Equinox had missed. The Manticore, Deus 2 and even the Legend have found a ridiculous amount of targets in my area with high mineralization and lots of trash, both targets in the 6" to 12" deep range and shallower targets that weren't recent drops but were partially masked that the other detectors just could not separate enough to get a recognizable hit. Best thing I have ever done was buy an Equinox 600/800. Next best things were the Manticore and Deus 2 as far as detector purchases.
