Minimum wage 1964 = $1.25 another words $48.40 in silver who here makes $48.40 a hour and that's minimum wage in 1964 dollars.
Minimum wage 2026 = $7.50 another words 17 cents in silver or 6 times minimum wage of 1964 in dollars so that means 6.45 times less money than 1964 . :rage: sube

Thus the primary reason kids can't afford to leave home.
Or even think of buying a house.
And anyone untrained in a skill set.
Or a minimum of education to get a decent paying job is what's torn the American family apart.
Both parents must work their butts off to have the family life their parents had.
The American Dream is all but gone.
Gone are the good old days of finding a factory job most anywhere capable of supporting it.

And Trump's is trying to bring back those gold and silver standards in the US anyway.
This could get interesting.
Hopefully !!!

In 1964 . . . silver = $1.29 per oz. . . . . . . . . Minimum wage = $1.25 per hr >>>> Every hour you worked you made almost an oz of silver.
In 2025 silver = $61.00 per oz. . . . . . . . . . . Minimum wage = $7.25 per hr >>> You have to work over 8 hours to make an oz of silver.

Talk about lopsided.

Someone realized back in the 1960’s that folks were doing well around the USA. Then things changed big time. They took the silver out of circulation and late sixty’s car prices went much higher. A 1968 corvette stingray was based at $2800.00. I went to a dealership and saw one for $3000. I drooled all the way to the floor but I was only 17. All good memories for sure. I did take the last dealer printed Corvette flyer from the display, still have it somewhere.
