Hello all, just registered just purchased a manticore.

Lots of great instructional videos online, stick with it and learn as you go. Don't give up and unload it, you'll regret it. Understand what settings do what and make it as simple or complicated as you like. It's a great machine to hunt out of the box. Good luck and don't be afraid to ask. JJ

I heard the Manticore is a heavy hitter, i recently got my first minelab the elite. The menu system is great and easy to learn. Are you in NM?

AT/ all terrain high conductor for silver and Cooper's.
AT low conductor for nickles and gold.
Stick with the basics.
Don't block or edit anything until you have at a minimum of 50 hours on the machine.
Actually that goes for any new machines.

Take a note pad.
Make notes of Every target.
Mention tones, VDIs, and and size of the signal.

Tones. Notice if it's clean and sharp.
Short or long tone. Part of sizing.
Scratchy. Usually junk or bottle caps.
Just a Sweet mellow tone.
Could be the big one you're looking for.
Notes for Everything you dig.
Start with VDI's.
Then tones.
Size by going into pinpoint.
Side to side. Forward back.
Even slowly circling.
Note size.
Shirt slow tight wiggle over target.
Dig and note the find.
Doing it like this is time consuming for sure.
But in time.
Making notes.
Drills it into your brain.
Finally the machine will become part of you.
Mind and body.

Be patient.
Learn what it's telling you.

Enjoy.

And the Best of Luck.

Luck is a big part of it.
If it's not in the ground.
You're not going to find it.

Here research is your Primary tool.
Libraries, old maps, stories and history of days long gone.

Look for long forgotten picnic areas.
Usually modified parks and long forgotten swimming holes.
Little creeks even.
Abandoned ponds.
Talk to the eldest in your family.
Where did they go to have fun swimming, picnic's and parties.
Smooching.
That applies to anyone over 60.

Their stories and memories are your greatest tool.
And for me.
A Great pleasure of timeless stories ...

Curious how are your Manticores running in that soil.
Bury target's and test them. ?
I've heard the ground can get pretty hot around there.

Y'all look for gold nuggets ?

Well i have only put about an hour on it but so far if it says its a coin its a coin. As far as hot ground yeah usually. Gold nuggets, been prospecting on and off for 42 years in north nm. No nuggets. A fair amount of very fine gold. Used all vlf. Scorpion, t2, tesoro lobo super trac. But no nuggets.

Also burried four coins then could not find them. My fault, right in the middle of where a 140 year old shed, garage kinda thing was located. Lots of iron. Lots. Ill keep trying learning

I was there years ago.
I got some really nice shot rock from what I believe was called The American Eagle mine.
Along the road to Silver city.

The bits spread throughout the telluride ore.
Are definitely detectable.

That’s way south of me. Definitely different country. Maybe someday i can take a ride down there. I ran all over the world and never even saw what was here at home

Still a good bit of gold there.
That machine should find those little nuggies and pay streaks.
Though you'll need that tiny coil.
