How about fresh water hunters ?

Since I live on the gulf coast I would use the beach programs a lot ... but sometimes I travel inland and hunt the fresh water beaches. information I see about Beach 1 and 2 programs refer to "salt" water conditions. How about the fresh water? I assume that park 1 and 2 would be the better...

    Possable future upgrade ???

I dont see any physical difference between the 600 and the 800 ... nowhere is the model number marked. The 600 is capable of producing all five frequency's in multi mode but not in single mode. This sounds like firmware that limits that. Could the only difference be the programing? Do you think...

It seems to me ... Equinox ...

The only real advantage of the Equinox detectors that I see would be to salt water beach hunters, or gold prospectors. The cost is about as low as you can get for a new waterproof water detector but I see no real advantage for the average coin hunter. I doubt the equinox can match the...

Trade value for my F-75 LTD SE ???

I have a like new Fisher F-75 LTD SE with both coils, box, and manual. I am considering trading it in on a new detector. Un-modified and with protective covers this detector has been used less than 5 hours total and looks excellent. Could someone here help me with some idea as to what trade-in...

ID numbers and Andy's manual ... Question.

In Andy's XP Deus manual there is a chart showing the values for different coins and other targets based on the frequency you are using. I have been using the 11" coil at 12K freq and the gold program as explained on page 119 and find the target ID numbers match up to the 18K freq column...

    Amazed again ...

Using the 11" coil at the beach in the dry sand (freq 12K) my Deus rang out loud and clear on this tiny little fastener. Depth was only a few inches in the sand but still I am amazed it picked it up so well. [attachment 331690 smlbut.jpg]

    The beach gold program ...

In Andy Sabisch's XP Deus manual on page 119 there is a program for beach hunting that is designed to improve your chance of finding the gold jewelry. This morning was the first opportunity I have had to get to the beach and try out my new Deus detector. I started the morning by using the 9"...

    Some Questions .......

Being a novice to the Deus detector I have red thru the User's manual and Andy's Handbook but still have a question or two. 1. is there a threshold tone or is the Deus a silent detector? 2. How do I turn down the headphone volume ... its to loud using a standard headset plugged into the...

    Help Deciding ....

Salt water beaches and shallow water are the main hunting grounds for me and I have that well covered with a CTX-3030. What I am looking for is a really good coin machine for the times I hunt a park or school ground. I have used just about all of the big name detectors ... currently a Fisher...

Which of all the Excalibur's made do you think was the best? Is the new Excalibur II 1800 up to snuff?

What coil should someone use on V3i at the beach?

The standard D2 coil will work just fine if you wach the sensitivity ... normaly on a beach the good stuff is not very deep and the more sand you search the better your odds of finding that really good item. If you want depth then go to the 12"/300 coil. A concentric coil will detect deeper than...

Could be once in a lifetime hunt!:detecting::detecting:

It sounds like the house had a stash of coins or they were buried and the moving equipment spread them out. I would hunt that place a few more times and try to find a pattern as to where the coins came from and how they were spread out. I would guess you found the tip of the iceberg and there is...

    Fisher F75 SE question ...

I have used two other F-75 SE detectors and noticed that in the DE (default) mode the gain jumped at a setting somewhere around 88 and you could hear the extra gain kick in with a slight background tone. The F75 SE camo detector I just got does not seem to do that. No apparent jump in gain or...

Using probes to locate targets ...

I have used both the Garrett Pro Pointer and the Pistol Probe and both work well for me. I prefer the Garrett as it is more compact and built a bit tougher. My question is about the Sun-Ray type of probes ... the ones that go between the coil and the detector. (I have three of them and would...

    Did ya ever notice ...

The way someone will get a new detector and then post glowing reports about how well it operates and that they would never hunt with anything else. It is usually the deepest detector they have ever used and finds everything everyone else is leaving behind. Then the new wears off and few months...

    Rock Port Missouri .....

Working a contract job in Rock Port MO and it is just too cold for this South Texas lad to get out and fire up the detector. Lots of good places to hunt here ... just across the Missouri River is Brownsville Kansas ... one of the oldest towns in KS. Just looking at some of them old buildings got...
