    Vanquish 540 question

Thanks guys. Makes sense to me. Now I will have to worry about something else. This is what happens when you retire with a little extra time on your hands. Do we really have time on our hands? Now that I look at that sentence it doesn't make sense.

    Vanquish 540 question

Not sure this is the right place so: Does the Vanquish 540 have a place to ground balance? I 've looked at the on-line manual and nothing is mentioned (that I can find) about G.B. Is it fixed, automatic, et.? Any help is appreciated.

    Metal Detector Rack

Black Crow, I like the idea of using the spikes. I dug dozens of them in the fields and woods around here. Only kept a few. I wish I had kept them all. Gen. Shermans troops pulled the spikes and made the famous "bowties" of the rails. Never found any evidence of the rails. The R.R. probably had...

    Old vs new

Mike, I was not impressed wit the original Simplex. Been so long ago I don't remember why. I recently bought the Ultra and am really enjoying it . It's a fun machine that's very impressive for the bucks. Like all detectors I wish it was lighter.

Why do women find metal detectorists so attractive and magnetic?

Wow! At my age all I would have done was stare and stutter.

How about $370.00? If no takers, I will stick it back in the closet. Thanks again for looking.

Lap, what a wonderful time you must have had! Anyone of those finds would have made my day. Probably more around, maybe a little deeper?

    Church

I go for David Jeremiah, Swindell and Kennedy. Kennedy is gone now but I still catch some of his old sermons. Stay away from those that promise you to get rich with your $1,000.00 "seed" contribution. I recently watched one preacher in an interview saying he needed a third jet so he would not...

    Simplex Ultra Headphone Question

One thing I found was the Ultra uses a Bluetooth headphone. The orig. Simplex phones will not work. Drove me crazy until the repair center got me on the right track. I don't know what the Legend uses. Great questions though!

Xp MI-6 pinpointer rubber tip protector

Odan, why not use it to pry rocks? I once saw a guy use it as a hammer. What really gets me is to see someone get a signal and then dropping an expensive detector to the ground or into soupy mud. Maybe they want to appear as an "old pro" with a cruddy looking detector.

3D printed parts and items . My son made for me . Using a prototype hinged version on my Ws6 master. Factory part had broken.

Wonderful! I barely have enough sense to use my D2, much less make something for it. I'm still lost in the age of glowing tubes. Oh well, it is what it is.

    Weight comparison

Relicmaster, send a few pics if you can. Sound very interesting. I bought the D2 because of the weight savings. Never looked back. I use a homemade balance weight on my other 2 detectors and naturally it adds weight but it also balances so much better. The coils don't pill down anymore. An arm...

You tube is a bad influence!

There are a lot of good points on old vs. new. Gets me all excited and ready to go out esp. after the crops are harvested. The hurricane Idalia messed that up. Doing corn now then peanuts and cotton last. At my age I need temps in the low(er) 80's. I really go out when the temp. gets in the 70's...

Tell us how long you been Metal Detecting

Bought my first detector in June of 1974 (49 years ago) from Cooks Appliance Repair in Albany, Georgia. It was a Whites but cannot remember the model. I've had over 50 detectors since then. Always looking for something better. I found a lot but wasted a lot of money.

    Ultra wireless phone question----again.

Thanks Oldkoot. I found out the hard way. Finally got it resolved though.

question about detecting on Historic property in Maryland

Why would anyone voluntarily put their house and land under the control of any government entity? Big bucks? Ego trip? I would like to know as I really don't get it. If the owner receives money do the tax payers get a benefit?
