    Thoughts on Garrett Apex

I agree that the expectations of the Apex being on par with the Equinox were overly enthusiastic at best. The two machines are in different categories, though I suspect that a person who is highly proficient with the Apex will outperform the average Joe who uses an Equinox. I'd love to see...

    Thoughts on Garrett Apex

The Apex caught my eye and after quite a bit of online research I ended up purchasing the Apex recently. I do like trying different machines, but I try to narrow any new machines down to something that will presumably provide a benefit above and beyond the machines I already own. Mostly I hunt...

    I just can’t do it!

I'm not going to try to talk you on, or off, the Whites ledge. I think staying/leaving is entirely up to you. I bought the Etrac because it was the "greatest" machine. Then the CTX 3030 came out; and it was the "greatest" machine ever. Everyone who was anyone had to have one, or be left behind...

    Tips on buying used V3i

Call Whites with the s/n to make sure the machine is legitimate. You can do the reset over the phone (with whites). I believe the process is also posted somewhere on the Whites forum.

VX3 IS IT ON ITS WAY OUT?????

It seems as though Whites is still manufacturing the V3. Beyond that, I don't have the slightest idea of what Whites is planning. Some rumors suggest that they're testing a new gold machine. Other rumors suggest Whites is working on a machine that combines VLF technology with PI technology...

6 years long went by since selling my v3i. Got One again!!

Congratulations on your new machine. As a subscriber to your channel, I am really looking forward to the coming V3i videos. It will be neat to see if you fall in love, with the V3i, all over again. With all the sudden rage over multiple-frequency detectors, I can't help but think that a certain...

Stock straight outta box v3i coin depths

I agree with daddyflea, it will depend upon your soil and the program chosen. As I remember it, with the stock coil and the stock coin and jewelry program in fairly mild soil I was getting quarters around 8 inches or so. Some of the other stock programs are deeper (IMO) - deep silver and mixed...

    Rack for Metal Detectors

I made a rack for storing my metal detectors and thought I'd share a couple of pictures. 36 inches in width 52 inches in height. Shelf on bottom is for storing batteries, headphones, pin-pointers, etc.. I made it out of fence boards because they're cheap (home improvement store) and I...

Grey Ghost Headphones with stereo mm

I can't help with the issue you are having with your headphones (I don't know the answer to that question). I can tell you that I use the Spectrasound wireless headphones with my V3i. I like them very much and wish they worked with my other machines. They work great in mixed mode stereo.

    Frequencies........

john67 nailed it; the machine can run on 1 frequency or all three, but you cannot run it on two frequencies only. My understanding is that the lowest frequency generally goes deeper and silver hits better, but it is more apt to miss smaller items. The highest frequency generally doesn't go as...

    Hello from southern NJ

I'd like to thank those of you who post in this forum. I'd been in the hunt for a new detector and this forum was very helpful in reaching my decision to purchase a V3i. I appreciate all the help given and the explanations of how this machine works. I had set out to buy a water machine for salt...
