    Yes,they operate at 6.6 khz. Simply push in the coil's connector.

    Bounty hunter coil question

    Your big bud xl should work regardless of cable color (gray or black). I don't understand about the meter not working. The xl uses a push in connector like most typical 1990s bounty hunter metal detectors.

    Tesoro Toltec 2

    The Toltec II was unique in that you can use it with or without the meter. Plug the coil's cable into the back of the meter and the extra cable from the control box to the meter.

    Good on high conductors,but won't go deep on lower conductors(past 4-5"). Has bell tone and notch. Battery compartment below the arm cup.
