    I use the salt beach mode on a black sand salt beach,,,but was told to use Relic Mode on the beach to get deeper depth ?? Has anyone ever tried this setting and do I have to change any settings to accommodate it ,To me, the unit will be going haywire .....,,thanks for the help,HH.Tim

    I use the 950 coil at the beach. The black sand being mineralized, the 950 coil punches through it, better than the D2. I use the D2 in the parks. HH.TIM

    Went to a local old beach with the V3i,,had the 950 coil attached,,,had the beach settings,tide was high so I stayed on the sand but did the edges by the fences..,,this beach is hammered hard with other detectorists,,I zeroed out all the VDI numbers from -94 to -6..as this place has alot of iron...

    Went back to same small park where i found the army toy soldier,I set my V3i to coin and jewelry setting ,stock setting...using a 950 loop .., I got a mixed signal ,6 inches,,bouncing back and forth to iron then high tone....buried under tree roots. I dug down, found a nail,,,went over the hole...

    This morning. went to a small local park,,,,so small,,,only 1 park bench in it,,,,found under a tree,, ..under roots,,,6 inches down,,,,came up as 50..49....in c & J...its a lead machine gun operator from world war II.....the quarter was used for size....HH..Tim
