Machine gun soldier

This morning. went to a small local park,,,,so small,,,only 1 park bench in it,,,,found under a tree,, ..under roots,,,6 inches down,,,,came up as 50..49....in c & J...its a lead machine gun operator from world war II.....the quarter was used for size....HH..Tim
 
That is a nice find but it might be older than WW ll, I would guess WW I or shortly afterwards.
