    1868 Shield nickel... while detecting with my T2

    To cut to the quick... Last month I spent most of a day detecting on open BLM land in Nevada. I happened to find a black "something." I rubbed it against my pants... used fine dirt to scrub... finally was able to make it out. An 1868 5-cent Shield nickel... Other than the damage I likely did...
