A Bit of Gold Picked Out

I hit my favorite beach this morning before work .There was a nice low tide and I found a section where a lot of sand was washed out. Started finding sinkers then snagged the nice gold earring . Only was able to look for an hour but will have more time Sunday morning .

    17" gets deep platinum

Hit the same beach as yesterday where I'd found the 14k ring. The platinum rang in at a solid 12-12 out of the hole but started out as just a "thunk ,thunk " when I first heard it . Was at least 12" deep .

    More gold for my 30/30

Pickins' were pretty slim this morning but I was able to snag a nice gold ring . I was searching the low tide line in the Gulf listening for those low "gold" tones. The ring was one of the last signals I received after searching for about an hour and a half . I'm glad I didn't give up on those...

    17"Coil Finds Gulf Gold /Silver

The Gulf was churning today so I hit up high where the waves had eaten about a foot of new ground leaving many coins/targets in the new sand.I was trying to mainly concentrate on "gold" signals and bypass the pennies and dimes . I take the quarter signals because occasionally I find a nice...

    Coil Cover Question

I've been contemplating permanently attaching my 17" coil cover to my coil by filling it with clear silicon caulk and then pressing it back on and wiping off the excess. Anyone ever do this and are there any drawbacks? I find myself cleaning my coil every hunt with the fine ,wet, salt sand that...

    CTX Gulf Gold

Hit a different beach this morning and found a guy already in the water with a wet suit and Excaliber. I wanted to search the wet tide line (low) and started with some deep pull tabs . This is usually a good sign as they could easily be gold .After working the beach for about half an hour I got...

    CTX Finds Deep Gold !

I've been working the wet sand the last couple days and found a couple gold rings at impressive depths . Usually the gold rings I find are no more than 3-5" deep but with the 17" coil I found a .8gram 10k ring at 7" and a 3.8gram 10k ring at 8" .Both rang out loud and had solid numbers. My CTX...

2014Starts out with sharks teeth, flint point and GOLD !

Hit my favorite spot on the beach this morning with my CTX and started the year with two small pieces of gold and "eyeballed" a couple shark's teeth and a nice Native American projectile fragment. Love sniffing out that small gold that others walk over. Both pieces read out a solid 12-04 and...

CTX Back From Rehab Does It Again

Had to send my CTX in for repairs after only having her since September but must say it was a very smooth and quick process. Great service from Minelab.I had also posted in October that I had found a nice gold ring in fresh water the first time out. Well the first time out with the "new" CTX in...

    Florida Gulf Fossils

These are some of my better beach finds I've eyeballed over the years while metal detecting. Notice the flint points and pottery shards in the lower left corner. There is also a hand forged brass ship spike and a couple large "dinosaur" bones . Enjoy and thanks for looking !

    Gulf Churns Up A Beauty

The Gulf of Mexico was really rough this morning with the first real tear out of sand on the beach . Signals were many washing out of the cut so having only a couple hours before work I decided to pass on the pennies and concentrate on the "better" sounds .I soon heard a sweet, mellow,12-10...

    More E- Trac Gold

Season for me here in the Fla. Gulf of Mexico runs roughly from Nov. thru Feb. . This is usually when the gulf starts churning and the days aren't so hot .Usually I hit the beach for about an hour before work ,best at low tide .To date this season I've found three 14k ,three .925 and 4 junk...

    Diamond looks like a CZ

Had reported earlier this week about finding a 2.5 carat diamond ring . It tested good at home but upon further testing at my gold dealers it was determined to be a real good CZ mounted with heavy prongs in14 K white gold .They said the ring was designed to mimic a setting that holds an...

E-TRAC does it BIG TIME !

Recently I responded to a post from Elton singing the praises about the E- Trac and that I could never get rid of her even though I now own a 30/30 ctx. I had stated that she had pretty much been delegated to backup. Well, guess what had to be sent in .The 30/30. So out comes old faithful raring...

    Silver...the easy way !

When the clerk handed me my change for lunch today I noticed a familliar ring to it and noticed one of my quarters was a 1957-D ! I didn't even have to dig .Keep your eyes (and ears ) open . And yes, I went back and got 3dollars in quarters just to make sure.

    CTX first day gold

Bought my CTX in Sept. and finally got to take her out for a spin . Went to an old swimming lake that 's been closed since the 60's. This place has really been hammered over the years by a variety of water (and land) detectors so I figured it would be a great testing ground .Lot's of trash but...

    worth the money?

O.K. I know you guys have been asked over and over if the 30/30 is worth the 2500.00 price tag but here's my deal. I presently own an E-Trac and a CZ21 for water detecting . I hunt the Gulf of Mexico from High tide beach sand to chest deep in water. I love the E-trac where the water breaks and...
