tin cans on the deus TID

No different than any other VLF detector. The company that makes a detector that totally eliminates bottle caps and rusted flat tin while still hitting on all non ferrous will sell more of them than any other detector being produced. I don't understand how folks think this is a new thing or that...

    Nox 800 Mods

"go dunk it in the tub for 2 hrs and let us know what happens!!" Are you kiddin'? I went and re-bought a Tesoro Tiger Shark because I didn't want to be without my Nox when it flooded. :)

    The dry spell is over!

I thought you said "hunted out school yard" we both must have been mistaken. Nice hunt!

    Strange but true.

I'd go back with Park 1, 5 tones, Sens 25 (if possible), I/B F2-0, Recovery 2 -3, Noise Cancelled and Ground Balanced to Actual soil.

    Which coil for ORX ??

I have the 9" X35, the Elliptical HF, and the 9" round HF coils. I'm in AZ with fairly high mineralized soil. My favorite is the 9" round HF coil. I find that I don't use the X35 because I don't have a need for the lower frequencies because we don't have any really old parks, where I'd be trying...

Whats up with the HF 9" coil

Two things. It's an excellent coil and most dealers are out of stock on everything XP due to the covid-19 hitting France in a Bad way so they're not shipping anything.

    Nox 800 Mods

I've used mine a few times every week for more than two years. I've changed mine to an "S" rod configuration. Not because there was a problem with it from the factory but because I like how an S rod swings. I changed the arm cuff because I had one with a cuff muff already attached to it, not...

Equinox is awesome water hunting machine

"It's much lighter & better balanced." I'm glad you're happy with your Nox 800, but I doubt if its lighter with Steve's carbon shaft with counter balance.

    Deus XP 11in Coil ?

Not "wider" from 3.7 to 27.7 kHz but more steps in between 35 hence the X35 name. The 5X9.5 HF coil can go from 13 to 81 kHz but only about 21 steps.

    XP ORX coil?

It all depends on the type hunting your son will be doing with the ORX. The ORX can use both HF coils and also the X35 coils. Seeing as how you already have the X35 11" and the Bigger coil is probably too much for you son, that leaves the 9" X35, the HF 9" , or the 5X9.5" HF Elliptical coils...

    Deus XP 11in Coil ?

No the older 11" coil is not as stable and is not as shieled against EMI as the newer X35 11" coil. Think of the X35 as the new and improved LF coil. Difference in depth is slight if any.

My attempt at a metal detecting video with the ORX and bottle caps

I haven't had my ORX very long but the couple of times I've used in in a park type setting I was running it at 31 kHz, so I guess that would explain why I haven't had a difficult time telling the bottle caps from the coins.

DEUS xp 11 in. DD coil.

There is no 11" HF Coil.

    Equinox Grip

Mine is still in great shape after more than two years. No gloves used and I average a couple times a week use.

    Nox 800 Mods

Switched mine to an "S" rod. Made a counter weight system for it but don't use it because the "S" rod made mine swing much better IMO. Added a Fisher arm Cuff with an Arm Cuff Muff. Cool in the summer, warm in the winter.

    Water Hunters Poll

I have the Nox 800 and the Multi Kruzer that are both waterproof as you know. Shortly after buying both of them new when they came out, and having the MMK leak, I didn't want to have the same thing happen to the NOX so I bought another Tesoro Tiger Shark like the one I sold right after I got the...

    MI-4 pinpointer sensitivity?

Paired to the ORX. Although I do use it with my NOX occasionally.

    A Few NOX 800 Questions

"FBS machines have advantages in finding silver coins over the Nox in all conditions". I'd argue the "all conditions" part of that statement. Put a silver coin in with a bunch of iron such as in a ghost town, railroad siding, old home site, around old foundations, or anywhere else that's iron...
