After thinking about it more over the past few weeks and looking at the posts; is the E-Trac really aimed or become more of a relic hunting machine co

it's kind of like an F-75 or T-2 in the two tone mode which is at their best?...it seems to do great in ferrous and two tones finding non-ferrous objects in all the iron. I'm not a dig "everything above iron" guy but I seems to me that a different thought process about the E-trac is in...

A few points for Mr. Sabisch and everyone else for that matter...(really, really long...sorry)

I was very excited to see that Minelab may have taken the next step for the Explorer with the E-Trac...so I went and bought one the first day it was available since I happened to be on vacation that week. Instead of waiting and watching to see what other guys on here thought of the new machine...

I do think it would be nice if someone from Minelab or someone involved in the development of the E-TRAC would explain the details of...

the thoughts and philosophy of this machine's design (especially since it's so different from the Explorer that we have been used to...it's OK but just explain it please) so we, the buyers, understand it better and can use the machine to maximize it's design intent. Obviously this machine is...

Has anyone mentioned that the depth meter, which is super accurate, quickly updates in pinpoint along with the TID at the same time unlike the SE...

which only updates the TID in pinpoint and the Explorer II and XS which does neither so the E-TRAC does have some extras that can be really helpful. So you can pinpoint a target in unbelievably accurate fashion coordinating the smartfind crosshair with the TID numbers and the depth meter...

2nd time out with the E-TRAC nets 26 coins in 1 1/2 hours at the 60's resort site :)

I just went up the street to a 60's resort that's now being bull-dozed where I found clad quarter after clad quarter before with the EX II. I hunted the front part that was untouched old mowed turf. I had been over this area before with a CZ-70 some and mostly an EX II. Dry ground conditions...

I can only figure one thing here-either Minelab wants us all to buy E-TRACs first before further explaining the ferrous audio and 12 ferrous ID thing

out ourselves as part of the "learning curve" ? I always think it's hard to fully understand any electronic device unless you were the engineer who designed it. You just don't always understand what they were thinking and how they configured the device to operate... and attempted to...

    First hunt with the E-TRAC...

Well, I went up the street to an old farmhouse site this afternoon for about 1 1/2 hours where the house was removed that I've hunted to death with many great machines. I didn't expect to find much but mainly wanted to see how the machine worked on ground that I'm very familiar with, including...

Here's some initial ferrous and conductivity numbers for the E-TRAC...

The detector was placed in all metal, manual sensitivity of 15, quickly done in my upstairs bedroom which is as far as possible from EMI sources: Coin Ferrous Conductivity Reading Indian Head Penny: Dug: 1897...

WOW, the E-TRAC is practically an entirely new machine compared to an Explorer...

in my humble opinion-of course there are surely some things that are familiar but at first thought-the control box buttons, feel, weight, and balance, processor speed, pinpoint, ID, and especially the Smartscreen and more for others I'm sure. The control buttons make common sense but still are...

An Explaination of F-75 Settings at iron laden old house sites-2F, etc...?

I just want to really understand what I'm reading from the most experienced F-75 users at these kind of sites. I see many are using 2F so iron is a low grunt, and anything else is a higher tone. How do you decide to dig a target-VDI and depth? I would really apppreciate a detailed settings...
