    V3i Wireless Headphone Problem

Has anyone had these issues with their wireless head phones with the V3i? It started with while detecting my head phones would occasionally make a loud pop like a static discharge. The first time it happened I thought it was a gunshot it was so loud. Now they have recently developed a...

    A question for V3i owners

I have two battery packs and two sets of rechargeable for the headphones----one in the detector and one on the charger. It takes me a whole of 30 seconds out of my detecting day to drop in a freshly charged pack and set of batteries in my headphones before I head out detecting. This always...

    Vx3 coils

Well I have a MD buddy who finds a lot of deep items with his non-V rated 1400DD on his V3i running all three frequencies. And my old pre V-rating Eclipse 6x9 works good on my V3i

Well gonna try a lithium ion batt..

Thanks Gregginohio just saw your reply. Checking on the advantages of Li-Ion. I currently use 2300mAh NiMH Energizers from Walmart in a converted battery pack that last a full day when fresh off the charger. Starting volts are 11.92 off the charger. They do self discharge if just left...

What setting could make a v3i ID incorrectly?

Check your floors for nails, wiring, water pipes or rebar if concrete before trying out DFXDon's method. My whole floor lights up to the metal detector without anything I have put down to test. Good luck!

    Watch Fob

It is the first one I have found. One website stated that they were in popular use from the late 1800s till just after WWII when pocket watches became less common.

    Watch Fob

Found this Caterpillar watch fob this last weekend on a heavily hunted lot. It shows that even the blind squirrel doesn't always find all the good nuts.:clapping:

V3I very faint tones at times?//

I just add them to the copper scrap bucket. Worth a little more than a penny a piece at Number 2 copper prices. I would rather dig these than pull tabs.

V3I very faint tones at times?//

I have dug hundreds of these which the old timers say are roofing tacks. Always show up as a coin from penny to quarter depending upon depth and soil. All are made of copper.

Nice finds! Now I know I will have to install a tracking device on your truck so I know where you get all the goodies.

Which of these two batteries would you prefer?

Any battery will get hot if shorted and some depending upon capacity (amp-hours) are worse than others. The confusion is between Li-Ion versus Li-Po (Lithium-Polymer) the most notorious for fires. Drop, poke a hole or short a Li-Po and you will have a fireball. Just look up "LiPo Fires"...

Which of these two batteries would you prefer?

The old problems with earlier NiMH batteries is a non-issue with the new LowSelfDischarge-NiMH batteries. These can be purchased off the shelf.

    V3i D2 10" Versus the 950 Concentric

I have seen the previously posted diagram many times and don't buy the simplistic stick drawings! Jeff Foster mapped out the signal strength at various points below the different coil types and illustrates the data in his book "Digging Deeper with the DFX". I tend to believe his work.

Wandering in the woods with my V3i & SEF part 2

Blaaaaahhhh! Bad beer! Mash 4077 beer was better. But the can is worth about a buck on the collectors market.
