just got a Equinox 600 as a back up to my 800.

thinking of making the 600 mainly for water and the 800 for the rest. I have all the coils so I can switch them out. I always want a good back up and I got a sweet deal by trading in my MX sport

just got a Equinox 600 as a back up to my 800.

thanks, recovery speed for me is just going slow enough to hear the tone for each target

    Deep coins

When you run the Knox in 50 tones all metal go slow enough to hear the tone of each target. If you get a high tone pinpoint to center that target under the coil. Then go over it again and then turn 1/4 turn and go over it again. If the signal maintains a good signal then dig it. If it's a...

    Any regrets?

set your Knox to 50 tones. Make a line up of targets. Penny nickel dime quarter and then silver ones. Go over each target listen to the tones. The knox makes a shrill screeching tone over any good target

Selling my 800 and 600 and buying a new one due to warranty expiration

I would keep them both and send them in for repair if necessary

    It's Been Awhile.....

If you live in my area the Knox isn't so great, but if your not competing with me it's the best detector ever for raw depth

    Finally made the big plunge

Make sure you watch videos on the Knox. Also watch videos where different detectors are being used in the same conditions. The Knox will make better deeper finds most of the time.

    Question on programs

I run in park 1 , 50 tones all metal. When you hit a silver it screams. In our bad mineralized soil I hit a Canadian fish scale at a solid 8".

    Equinox Skid Plate

I always scrub the ground with my coil, it seems to get deeper. What about putting a silicone bead around the top of the skid plate

Stirring the pot.. 600 or 800..!!

Both good detectors, if you want the most adjustability then go with the 800 other wise the 600. A lot of people start with the 600 and then get the 800. Same thing happened with the White's V31 vs Whites Vx3.

    Big Brother is Watching..!

Some one called the cops on me and my buddy hunting a park. The ground was soaked and extremely muddy. Two cop cars came from different directions and left deep burrowed tracks in the lawn. They pulled up to us and said we were supposedly tearing up the park. They said the caller said we dug...

Getting another equinox 600 this evening.

Multi frequency, 50 tones and all metal is the way to go. Takes a while to get use to but once your there you'll love it

Is the equinox update worth it??

It definitely stabilizes the Knox which means you can run in higher sensitivity increasing your depth and target ID. I have definitely noticed an improvement

Considering the EQ800 but have a question

Love the Knox. If you want turn and go you got it. Then you can expand or tweak slowly until you get the settings the way you like it. Got mine last Oct have a couple hundred hours on it. It works best in all metal mode and then you use the tones and VID numbers to decide whether to dig or...

    6 inch coil

You can probably max out the sensitivity, with the small coil. It rips deep 6" dimes and 7' pennies
  17. M

    Strange but true.

WHen you first get a detector you will need to take the time to learn and adjust it to get the maximum depth. Start a test garden and then adjust the settings until you get the most depth and stability.

    all metals

I run park 1 all metal. Its noisy but you will learn when it's a good signal and dig.

Equinox 800 first and second hunts.......starting to figure it out.

With the knox always dig until the hole doesn't give you a good signal. I can't believe how many good coins I get that have 3 or 4 pieces of trash in with it

Isn't it time to be irritating Minelab with calls to bring out some new coils for the Eq?

I want a 17" or 19" coil to really rip it deep. The 15 never comes off
