    VDI numbers

Ferrite beads only help if your coil cable's shielding is broken or very low quality to begin with. So in the real world it's akin to hanging a CD off your rear view mirror to make your car invisible to police radars. Of all multis, M2 works best on small gold.

TVA shut down any metal detecting down on there land !

You might've spoken to some power tripping receptionist. Write an email to their official address, ask the same question. Organizations tend to be much more precise in written communications. Even the most restrictive campgrounds (including privately managed ones), at least in my experience...

TVA shut down any metal detecting down on there land !

From my experience, if the beach is exclusive to the campground, there's not much to find, as campers seldom wear any jewelry. Coin spills, tons of pulltabs and a bunch of tent stakes is not worth the time, IMO. However, if the beach is designated as a "recreational area" and/or "day use area"...

Every detectorist out there at some point (or even more than once) wished to have a ground penetrating MRI that shows you exactly what's down there and can tell pulltabs from gold rings. Perhaps one day we'll have such technology, but it will mostly be used in forensic and industrial...

    VDI numbers

Analog machines have VDI numbers extrapolated from the tone circuit, so to speak. Digital machines have tones generated based on VDI numbers.

    VDI numbers

VDI and numbers are the same. Oddly enough, so are the tones (except for pitch). For example, in 60 tones, each tone represents a number (until you start messing with tone break), etc. What I'm trying to tell you is that it's not possible to have VDI telling one thing, and the tone telling...

How to reduce the drag of a water detector

In shallow water it shouldn't bother you much, and you won't feel much of an improvement by making a "racing" shaft. In deeper water – just collapse it (to reduce the leverage) and go snorkeling.

    All that for 1 Penny?

I often cut a pentagon on 4 sides or an octagon on 5. You're not limited to square holes… :spin:

"Re-download" means "go to website and download again". If I understood Dilek's announcement correctly, they've updated the updater (the part that actually uploads the firmware file into machine), as many users had problems figuring it out (UART updaters are not for the faint hearted). So if...

    Legend in modern trash

Remember that detector's "field of view" at maximum depth is actually much narrower and shorter than you thought?… Well, pretty much no one properly overlaps their swings, ever. So this old adage can be easily replaced with "Today's me found stuff yesterday's me missed" :twodetecting:

    VDI numbers

It is. Just don't forget to re-download 1.09 (it comes with new updater) and do the factory reset once the update is complete.
