Kind of a XP Deus personal survey

1.Why did you buy the Deus 2.How do you like it and why 3. What did you use before My answers: I bought it after using a friends to try and was impressed with the speed and lack of weight I like it because I can go hours with it with no shoulder/arm pain, it separates...

    XP Deus depth reading

What relationship are you finding as far as depth and what the horseshoe shows? In other words, when the horseshoe shows half, what depth do you find the target? Same way with just a sliver showing, how deep does that usually relate to actual depth on coins?

    Does anyone use notch

Most, if not all, posts I see on setting up adjustments do not use the notch feature. Does anyone use it and if so, how and when? I'm familiar with notching on my Xterra 705 but there you can notch just a single setting on the scale.

Treasure Mountain Detectors - great service

Called about a part replacement and was quoted a good price, unfortunately after discussing the part description he informed me the only one available was not the correct part I wanted. I figured that was the end of it because he did call the manufacturer and that was the answer he received. The...

Interesting test for XP Deus newbies

If you have read your manual and followed posts on the forum, you probably understand what the reactivity setting can do for your performance. However, to get a really good idea, create a nail board and lay a dime 1/2" from the nail. Now swing your detector over it at your normal swing speed...

It would help when posting to share settings used

It would be nice when posting about your finds or hunts, what settings you were using since the Deus allows quite a bit of tweaking. Also what coil you used and type of area you were on. Just something I'd like to see that I think woukld be helpful information. I realized what setting you use...

    Ground balance offset question

I've seen posts stating to pump the coil for ground balance and then offset it by 4 or 5 numbers. The problem is some say to do this with the plus keypad and some say with the negative keypad. I thought negative offset was supposed to help improve depth, so which is it?

There are some great people on these forums

I have some very physical limitations due to an accident back in '89. Due to my condition I am unable to do anything that requires fine motor skills. There have been a few times something came up and a few forum members have responded in kindness to assist me in making a modification or...

    Snorkel wire

Has anyone made one that they have proved works time and time again with out failing? I seen in previous posts some of you made them but seemed to be working on an improved model. I contacted XP and they said one should be available at years end but also stated how users are making their own.

    Which program do you prefer

Which program do you prefer? Why? What mods have you done to it?

Minelab missed the boat in my opinion

Won't divulge where I got my Minelab Profind25 but will say this, unless you need something different than the GPP because of crosstalk, don't waste your money. The GPP is deeper even with the Profind's sensitivity all the way up. The Profind 25 is quieter, but its vibration isn't as strong as...

    1st hunt with new Deus

Went to a church grove with Goodmore for a short hunt. Got too hot and humid for me but did manage a 1904 Barber dime at an honest 8". Had my GMax program at 12 frequency and it read 95 but very faint and barely showed on the horseshoe. Switched to 4 frequency and it sounded off better and...

    Coil comparison

Has anyone done a comparison test between the White's D2 coil and another brand 10x12 coil that Kellyco carries? Just curious to the results you get.

6" HF DD coil Vs. 5x10 HF DD coil

Just got my 6" HF DD coil. In air tests it was fairly even to what my 5x10 HF DD coil tests but out in my test garden the 5x10 coil was quite a bit deeper. Are these the results others seem to find? Main purpose of the 6" coil will be for fresh water hunting.

    Battery packs

Does anyone use the rechargeable battery packs? Either the standard White's or the NiMH pack or do you just have a backup pack for the alkalines?

    Coil depth comparison

Does anyone have depth comparisons between the 5x10 HF DD elliptical and the 6" coils. I need to purchase a waterproof coil, and DD coils work better in my area. Unfortunately minelab has really dropped the ball in my opinion on waterproof coil selection availability for Xterra users where DD...

Are the CZ's prone to EMI and chatter like the F series

Been thinking about trying a CZ3D but wonder if they are as chatty as the F series.

    MXT users

I enjoy your posts but would really like to see you include honest depth of your finds, VDI numbers and how accurate you thought they were, and which coil you were using. These additional bits of information would be helpful to newbies of the MXT. Yes, I know the VDI's will be influenced a lot...
