    Thanks for the replies. I forgot that the sef coils were made by detech. I had one of those before. I am thinking of getting 1 of 3 by detech. The 7 or 9 inch ultimate or possibly the 10x14 dd. I would rather have something in the 11 or 12 inch round dd style but I am not having much luck...

    Well I looked this morning and saw my large dd coil eclipse for the dfx does have the same plug as my quantum 2. ..I plugged it on to the quantum and it works however the depth is terrible. .so with that said.....it is not going to work probably being a different ohm resistance to the unit...

    On the same similar videos the guys are always on the edge of detection....like a 10 inch dime for instance ..it is pretty far down there for a dime at that depth So yes The numbers do bounce around some but the signal still sounds good. So I would still dig it anyways.

    My question is this....can you take a coil for a dfx like the 6x10 dd....and swap out the cable connector for a 6.59 unit...like for the xlt or classic style models? I have a quantum 2 and really like it. However.....I think it would be a beast with a newer style dd coil. I am good at...

    Well I bought MDSteve's XTP from here on findmall. i talked to him over the phone a few times and really enjoyed the conversation with Steve too. Very nice fellow who enjoys the hobby like I do. So I am looking forward to getting to try it out.

    I think your doing a great job here!! Yeah I never really could figure out the park 1 and 2 stuff on the equinox as well. Matter of fact....I used the eq 600 in single freq mostly anyways. It just runs so much smoother in high iron around civil war camp sites and old houses in certain areas...

    I have been considering getting a detech coil for my dfx. I have had some similar coils for other units but never had a detech coil. Can anyone chime in with their experiences?

    Well yes all the videos are not correct but I watch more of the first time out ones rather than the depth test and such. Either way....I am looking forward to when it arrives.....I hope it isnt too far out

    I do not need it.....but what the heck. I tried looking around at the bass pro shops but they did not have any in stock. I have watched several videos with people using it and I like the new 0 to 99 id numbers. My first minelab was an xterra 50 and I really loved it with the 6 inch 18khz...
