Can Dogs hear our metal detectors ?

A dog can hear frequency's up to about 45 Khz. Most humans can't hear above 16 Khz some one with superb ears 20Khz would be the upper limit. A dogs hearing is extremely sensitive. I did some tests to see what my own hearing upper frequency limit is , both ears are maxed out at only 12khz before...

Can Dogs hear our metal detectors ?

I have noticed that dogs started barking as soon as the detector is powered on and detecting started. They can here the detector half a mile away easily under the right conditions. It does seem to annoy dogs IMHO.

    Largest Find in Britain

Hoards are not found in abundance these days here in uk , yes there are hoards to be found , hoards were coming out left right and center in 70's 80's 90's even BFO detectors were pulling hoards out at one time.

I watched a video of a guy in new york digging on a park with this monster detector, i only have one thing to say , don't use this detector on parks or you will give the hobby a bad name. Found a Gold necklace today

That is a strong point with that coil on D1. Small and thin gold. I had one of those coils on my D1 but i found it useless on coins , no depth and no luck really so it was sold along with the D1. nailed a mans gold ring with the Round HF though.

    Banning of metal detecting

I agree totally but the problem is the idiots that make a real mess , i have seen one foot wide giant plugs cut to recover targets at 3 or 4 inches. I came across one guy on a footpath who was dressed in full camo and wearing a brimmed cowboy hat who had cratered holes for half a mile down the...

    Banning of metal detecting

Finding places to detect is often not that easy. Finding sites worth detecting and getting permission is hard often. Plenty of land but nothing in the soil here.

    compass metal detector

I used to find bucket loads of coinage with a BFO once upon a time. These days a BFO would find very little. Now is it the detector that finds a lot , or is it the site loaded with coinage that is best.

    I just purchased the Legend.

Most of them are not updated to 1.11 when you buy a new legend. I guess a version 1.12 will come maybe before this year is out. or early next year I think 1.11 is approaching the pinnacle of updates. i can't fault 1.11 it does what i want.

    Sad News!

Yes the Explorer 2 Upper white shafts soon went out of stock. I think maybe Minelab should keep plenty of replacement upper shafts.

    Antibiotics or Impact

They both have the same depth when fitted with exactly the same coils. I seem to have more joy with impact though. maybe just luck though who knows..

Nokta Impact Pulls Coins Out Well With 5 INCH DD.

I have tried this coil combination and it works . High gain 88 to 94 and deep mode switched in. That extra bit of depth pulls out the smaller higher conductors.
