Now I know why Vern's photo with chainsaw looked familiar

I found this magazine at a flea market over the weekend!

    Etrac proves her abilities again

I had an hour to kill so I went to a 1700's home site that I have been to countless times. I hunted an area close to the house which I had surgically hunted with my Explorer II and the 5 inch coil. This ground is loaded with nails and junk. Using the Etrac and Sunray 8 inch coil, hunting in...

    One from yesterday

Since I have been spending all my hunting time with the E Trac lately I decided I would take out the old reliable XLT She proves once again that she can still sniff them out and never disappoints me! This seems to be a 1795-1798 draped bust as best as I can tell.

    Etrac's first 1700's coin

My old Explorer II had no problem sniffing these out but this was the Etrac's first one. I'm not sure of the variety, the back is pretty far gone and I can barely get a date but it looks like 1771 Settings: coin mode, semi auto +3 (was running at around 21) deep on ( this was only about six...

OK Here's proof the E-trac performs better

This large cent was found in a small area I thoroughly checked with my Explorer II using all my coils right down to the 5 inch to sneak in between the iron. This time I hit the spot with the E Trac and stock 11 pro coil which by rights was way too big for the amount of iron/junk. Using the coin...

    A few from the weekend

I spent an hour at an early 1900's school on Sunday. The Merc is a 1912, the wheaties are 1919, 1920, and 1929. The tie clasp is the first one I found like it. It was from 1949 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Boy Scouts.

My "all metal" way of thinking is slowly changing

Always hunted all metal with the Explorer II for fear of missing something in the null. I brought the E tac to a 1700's home site and in particular a small area that must have been a structure since swinging the coil there produces just about a solid null. The best I ever did was an indian head...

    For those wondering about relics

Since coins are only a small part of what I enjoy digging I was curious as to how relics might read compared to the old Explorer. This is a brass tag from a Crawford bicycle that I dug yesterday. It read 13-23 and stayed there from initial sweep to touch with the probe.

Keeping the machine from falling over

Since a lot of you guys were asking about these anyone interested in these for the X Terra let me know. It replaces the lower stand and uses the same screw. I have some to sell.

Hey, where did these come from!

They came from an old school in a small area that I use for "testing" equipment. I have swept at all times of the year, with a XLT, DFX, X-Terra 70 and Explorer II with coils from stock 8" to 12" Sunray. Let's face it NO PLACE is really ever hunted out but I was surprised that in the course of a...

    Etrac sees through the junk

I hunted along the foundation of a 1700's home that I have pounded with the Explorer in all metal and the tiny 5" coil. There is tons of nails and misc garbage pieces along with pea gravel. Never pulled anything good out. I wanted to see the Etrac's ability to see through the junk so I hunted...

Brian(Upstate NY) gave me a great deal

I just bought a detector from him. Said it was used but it is LIKE NEW! Packed well, shipped super fast. Couldn't ask more from a guy. Thanks Brian!

Thanks to Lynn at the Detector Depot

I too now have the E Trac. Since every detector I have ever owned I bought used, I thought I would treat myself this time. Lynn puts together a great package if you are in the market for one of these E Tracs or any unit for that matter. But even better than that his customer service is the best...

    DetectorPro Headhunter Pulse for sale

Hardly used, take on vacation a few times and to the beach a few times. I found I don't have the time to get to the beach like I though I would. Original cost was $700 I will take $350 shipped and insured. This is the 11 inch version.

Has anyone tried one of their smaller coils on the E Trac yet?

Just curious how it performed compared to the big 11 incher.

A bit of Nostalgia for you Marines or Flyboys

I was going through some things I have put away from my dad. He was a turret gunner in the Marine Air Corp. He spent his time in the air in the plexiglass turret atop the B-25 Mitchell serving in the Pacific theater. He would have been 84 in three weeks. Semper Fi Dad! Since there are a lot of...

I guess I should post a few finds

Nothing special, they are from a 1900's built school. Ground is like cement, thus the slight scratch on the 1917 dime. The medal is a "Good conduct medal" How many of us got one of those?.......... OK then, How many got detention?

OK, did anyone have one of these back in the seventies?

I found this White's Beachcomber at a flea market yesterday for six bucks. This is a early one, doesn't even have the meter.

Very useful information for men only, Magyar do not read this

I needed to fix some sheetrock and guess what I found when I opened my half used bucket of wallboard compound. Yep, it was starting to harden up. So I went into the kitchen and took Maria's baking hand mixer, added a bit of water and after a few minutes it was good as new. Who says men are no...
